Members Of Congress Urge Redskins To Change Name

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Ten members of Congress are urging the Washington Redskins to change their name because it is offensive to many Native Americans.

The representatives said Tuesday they've sent letters to Redskins owner Dan Snyder, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Redskins sponsor FedEx and the other 31 NFL franchises.

The letter to Snyder says that "Native Americans throughout the country consider the 'R-word' a racial, derogatory slur akin to the 'N-word' among African Americans or the 'W-word' among Latinos."

But these same leftist morons did not give a rats butt when Elizabeth Warren blatantly lied about her Cherokee ancestry to gain admittance to law school. There is no boundary to the hypocrisy of Democrats.

So, no more redskin potatoes at the market? No more Jewish rye bread? No more Eskimo Pies?

Really? I would think that some Native Americans may take the name as a compliment. They may not be a great team but someone back in time chose the team name for a reason. Has anyone delved into the reason this name was given in the first place?
