11-Year-Old's Business Lands Her As A Finalist In National Competition

The business of one 11-year-old might become her full-time job.

Cupcakes for Literacy is the business of Krissa Hill, of Savage. Her business aims to sell baked goods to benefit local schools, libraries, and reading programs.

Her idea landed her as a finalist in Warren Buffett’s “Grow Your Own Business Challenge.” The national competition encourages young entrepreneurs to develop smart financial habits and come up with unique business concepts. It is sponsored by the Fairholme Foundation and reaches over 100,000 classrooms with tools and lessons for teaching good financial habits to youth.

Thought that Queen Michelle had banned any type of baked goods from schools.

I hope she is using health department approved equipment.

Can't you all be positive and just say "Congrats to this ambitious 11-year old"? Oh right you need a soul to do that.

What about all of the other young kids whose lemonade stands we're shut down, whose bake sakes were prohibited,? While I applaud her industry selling baked goods is not exactly a new idea. Apparently she is excluded from the Obama ban of baked goods in schools. wonder why.

No 11:41. They would ask to see her business license and request an inspection of her kitchen.

My gosh, the ignorance here is ridiculous. Why can't you all just see a young person trying to do the right thing. I remember now why I stopped reading this garbage.
