THE POWER TO DESTROY YOUR STANDARD OF LIVING

You may have heard that the Bank of Japan has taken desperate measures to weaken their currency and create inflation. They have succeeded in driving the Japanese stock market up 60%, enriching speculators and connected cronies. Well done. They win the Benjamin Award, named after Bernanke, and given to the most reckless central bank of the year. Japan is occupied by a rapidly aging population that has seen its savings rate plunge from 20% to 0% over the last two decades. These old people have been thrown under the bus by the BOJ and their political leaders. As you can see from this chart, the senior citizens of this country have lost 28% of their purchasing power in the last eight months. Think about that for a second. The rich have seen their wealth expand by 60%, while the peasants have seen their standard of living destroyed by 28%. This is a template for what Bernanke and our politicians want to do. You’ve been warned.
