Thousands Pack Hearing On Gun Control

Maryland Department of General Services Police say more than 2,500 people came to Annapolis today for a hearing on Governor Martin O'Malley's gun control bill.

A pair of House committees are hearing testimony from as many as 1,000 witnesses on both sides of the issue.

Earlier today, Governor Martin O'Malley addressed a rally of supporters of the bill.

Based upon WBOC's coverage of the event, you would think ONLY pro-gun control bill supporters were there today. Shame on you Draper.

I predict if this bill passes you'll start to see the same outbound migration as California. Given the choice of leaving and protecting my family OR being made an outlaw in the State my family has called home since the 1600's, I choose family and depart.

Ask any Australian (forced to turn in their weapons recently) what's coming and they'll tell you to do whatever you can to stop this craziness.

Maryland Department of General Services Police

What the hell? How many police agencies does the State of Maryland for the state and I don't mean city and county.

Maryland Department of General Services Police, Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police, Maryland Office of the Comptroller, Maryland State Fire Marshal, Maryland State Police
Maryland Transit Administration Police, Maryland Transportation Authority Police, all University Police agencies, Mental Health and Hygiene police agencies, State park police.

Did I miss any? Why can't all of the state police agencies fall under the umbrella of the Maryland State Police with different divisions?

Kudos to our Wicomico County Sheriff for the truthful, common sense, factual testimony that he gave. Thanks for upholding the Constitution of the U.S. You sir are a man of integrity.

12:40...you'd think that, with all those tough guys with all those guns, there wouldn't be a single crime happening. But they don't have guns to protect you and I -- we're on our own -- its to protect THEMSELVES. You and I don't get that same right and you know who will make sure we don't? Those same tough guys with guns. And badges. When they shoot a kid, or guard a shipment of drugs, or start beating you over something that pissed them off, they don't want too much of a level playing field. It would tend to put a bit of hesitation in their "we're as tough as nails when it's 6 against 1" crime fighting philosophy. People that shoot back do that to ya....How in the hell did the police get to tell us which rights they will "allow" us to have??? DEFY ALL GUN LAWS and be ready to drop anyone who wants to take the opposing position. They are ready to drop YOU, trust me.
