On Gun Control, Banning Semiautomatics Isn’t The Answer

I was at the NRA gun range in Fairfax County the other day, shooting an AR-15 “assault rifle.” It’s eerie to hold at first, as if the gun was not merely the same kind used in several recent mass killings but the same one. And when you hear the blast from that supersonic .223-caliber bullet, the thought that someone would use such a weapon on elementary school children makes you want to put it down.

Ban it. Take it away. Beat it into a plowshare. For a moment, the proposal by gun control advocates to outlaw the rifle actually seemed to make sense. It was the relief that accompanies any quick fix to a vexing problem. Doing something is better than doing nothing, President Obama says.

Except that blaming the gun really is doing nothing. The more I fired the AR-15, the harder it was to pretend that any gun was somehow more dangerous than the person holding it.

PLEASE do the reseach on Sandy Hook. The assault suspect did have an AR-15....but it was in his trunk and was never fired. The MSM ran with this information and it's nowhere near the truth.

The shotgun was in the trunk.

all day friday the reporting said that he shot all of the children with a pistol and that they found an "assault weapon" in the vehicle in the parking lot. the next morning the story changed, he shot all of the adults & children with the "assault weapon" and decided to off himself with the pistol, and they found the saiga-12 shotgun in the vehicle in the parking lot. it seems that the reporting on friday didn't fit the narrative well enough so they had to revise it on saturday. on a side note, it's the strangest thing, this is the first large shooting that i have ever heard tell of that had no wounded, only dead. no survivor accounts, only media reports.

We will never know what happened there, but I find it oogie that there were no wounded and the changing story thing.

I never saw pictures of an AR-15 in the trunk. All the pictures/video I saw were of a shotgun.

Why does anyone need machine gun type guns anyway?----I think the person buying such would be up to no good intentions anyway!

Machine guns were banned a long time ago. You need to read the current laws! We are talking about "Modern Sporting Rifles". There is no such thing as an assault weapon. I could call my golf clubs an assault weapon. Reason for owning? Hunting, target shooting and competitions, home protection, community protection and come to think of it....it’s my second amendment right....

People kill people. People are the ones pulling a trigger on a gun that kills people. When have a gun stored in a safe place EVER kill a person. I have own the same hand gun for over forty years and it has NEVER killed a soul. People kill people with these guns.

Now you want to tell me what I saw or did not see?

Get a life. If people like you were so open to believe the truth as you are to cover-ups and conspiracies this country and world would be a much better place.

If you are one of those people that will not change their mind no mater what, it makes no difference.

But if you are a reasonable person, one that deals in truth and facts, do your own search and you will find exactly what I have mentioned.

I know it's more exciting to believe the worse and the secret societies and the big conspiracies, but every event is not a conspiracy.

Have a nice day and don't forget to take your meds.
