Ron Paul On The Fiscal Cliff: "We Have Passed The Point Of No Return"

In a little under three minutes, Ron Paul explains to a somewhat nonplussed CNBC anchor just how ridiculous the charade that is occurring in D.C. actually is. This succinct spin-free clip should be required viewing for each and every asset-manager, talking-head, propagandist, and mom-and-pop who are viewing the last-minute idiocy of the 'fiscal cliff' debacle with some hope that things will be different this time. "We have passed the point of no return where we can actually get our house back in order," Paul begins, adding that "they pretend they are fighting up there, but they really aren't. They are arguing over power, spin, who looks good, who looks bad; all trying to preserve the system where they can spend what they want, take care of their friends and print money when they need it." With social safety nets available to rich and poor, there is no impetus for change and "the country loses," but Paul concludes, the markets are starting to say "there is a limit to this."

His assessment should put us all at ease. There's a lot to be said for having reached the point of no return. Now everyone from top to bottom can rest easy, knowing that any effort to correct our problems will be in vain anyway.Ron Paul always did know what to say and when.

Sadly...it no longer makes a difference. The Repubs will cave in an attempt to save face but it won't work. Whatever they do they lose. The Dems have played a better game and as a result we will go further in debt. But as I said it won't matter because we will never repay the debt we currently owe. It will be forgiven. BUT it will only be forgiven if we accept a new global currency which we will gladly do in order to have this mountain of debt go away. Other nations have quietly drifted away from the U.S. dollar as their reserve currency. China is manufacturing everything..we have nothing. It's over.

You know I was thinking today when I was out that it's the start of a New Year and for the first time in my 65 years I couldn't bring myself to say "Happy New Year" to anyone.

It simply is NOT a Happy New Year.

In fact I think that the next 4 years we will slip into a depression so deep you will not recognize the America we once had. Freedoms and all.
