President Barack Obama issued an executive order to end the pay freeze on federal employees, in effect giving some federal workers a raise. One federal worker now to receive a pay increase is Vice President Joe Biden.
According to disclosure forms, Biden made a cool $225,521 last year. After the pay increase, he'll now make $231,900 per year.
Members of Congress, from the House and Senate, also will receive a little bump, as their annual salary will go from $174,000 to 174,900. Leadership in Congress, including the speaker of the House, will likewise get an increase.

This will cost more than a Billion dollars each year. I thought they were suppose to be CUTTING spending not spending more.
How about minimum wage? The people of this country have been laid off from well paying jobs and forced to take minimum wage jobs.it's crap.everything has risen but the pay checks.and now with Obama care employers are cutting hours to under thirty hours a week.I bust my ass pardon the language...two jobs at minimum wage plus my wife working the same.I had to go sit next to the ghetto people to get help and was turned away.Wtf.I work and can't get help.these people were bragging on how they were getting an increase of all sorts of programs and the fact they haven't worked in years..
This violates basic principles of not rewarding bad behavior. Sad shape this country is in. I went to the movies yesterday and watched everyone who entered the theater. I don't think I was aware of the fact that I was looking for a shooter but I was looking for anyone fitting the profile. I watched one man with heightened interest until he sat next to a woman who shared popcorn. Sad state of affairs. It is a crazy person who ignores all the tell tale signs of where we are headed. As for me, I pray.
How in the world is this O's responsibility? I thought that these type of things needed legislation -- and not executive orders -- in order to be legal?
But then, when did O require Congress to do anything first?

Too bad we can't take a vote of "No Confidence" and give them all the boot over the cliff.
Another spending increase that is not budgeted! If Boehner had a set, this would be the first repeal required. Won't happen though as he's getting some of the handouts.....everyone continues to vote to retain the government dole!
At least on a local government level this can't happen.
A Mayor or Council cannot vote on an increase for elected officials for the current term. Increases can only be done for those people elected in the next election.
As for the City of Salisbury, the Council recently turned down a 12% pay increase until ALL City Employees get a raise.
Obama is out of control on this one. But hey, the majority of Americans voted for him and we'll all get what we don't deserve.
What a slap in the face to every working person in America. These slugs, these slimy two-faced out-of-touch RULERS watch the average American see THEIR paycheck dwindle or disappear, see food prices double and triple, real wages stagnate and decline, and THEY tell us that $175,000 a year is not enough for them. Unreal. And they have the audacity to claim they "represent" us?? With a straight face, too?? Keep voting. I just wonder how ANY of them can take their oath of office without busting out in uncontrollable laughter....
Thats why we are going over the fiscal cliff to pay for their raises.Boy Washington keeps getting more crooked as time goes by.Man fire all of them they can not even do there jobs but they can sure add expense to all of us tax payers.
The only answer are strict term limits, no pension for life and the same health care the rest of the country lives with.
When their terms are up they go back to regular jobs and we thank them for their service. As it is now being an elected official is just a retirement plan and they are sucking us dry.
