U.S. SOLDIERS URGED NOT TO SHOOT TALIBAN AT NIGHT SO LOCALS CAN SLEEP

Reports indicate U.S. soldiers and British Royal Marines have been urged to show "courageous constraint  " by not shooting Taliban members spotted planting IEDs.

The reason? Shooting them might disturb the locals.

That's when you know it's a no-win situation and it's time to leave.

What country or countries is this happening in? The article fails to mention that detail.

How stupid? How do you sleep in peace knowing your neighbor is building a bomb which could accidentally detonate before its set up in the road. You know the same road you husband travels down to go to work. Not being allowed to shoot guns at night ied builders at night is a joke. Guess troops have 2 choices. Get some sling shots for night shooting or pack up, come home and watch them setup ied's to kill themselves and not our brothers and sisters

Sergeant Rayner was serving with the 2nd Battalion Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment and was leading a ten-man patrol in Helmand when he was killed in an explosion last October.
