Ocean City, MD – Ocean City Emergency Services is continuing to monitor the projected path of Hurricane Sandy. Currently, the storm is expected to be in the Ocean City area during the evening hours of Sunday, October 28, and is projected to last through Tuesday, October 30. High winds and large amounts of rain are likely, which may lead to flooding and possible power outages.
During the storm, the Town of Ocean City will be posting storm related information on various websites, social media outlets and through the GovDelivery system. In an effort to keep citizens informed with the most updated and accurate information, the Town of Ocean City will be posting storm related information on the following outlets:

Earlier they downgraded this from a hurricane to a tropical storm. Now it's back to being a hurricane. They are saying it is strong and wider than Irene was and we know how much damage they did to the Outter banks.
The Town of Fenwick has boarded up a lot of its commercial venues. Some will be closed for Sunday and Monday.
In this announcment I see 1 phone #. All the rest are communications via computer. If your electric goes out you may still have pnone, but you don't have computer.
Ocean City is placing all thier bets this will be nothing.expense bet. I say thier missing the boat, and may just need one to get out of town. Typical politics, $$$$$$ talks, eveything else comes in second.

How do you connect your laptop to the internet? If you use DSL or Cable that still requires electric.
Some people use their phone to access the internet. Other have generators so they can keep things going.
Sometimes these websites can help those that do have electric find out how they can help others.

To a network this is running. If no network is running or you cannot connect to it, it doesn't matter if you have electric or not.
