Troopers Investigate Motorcycle Crash South Of Georgetown

Location: South DuPont Boulevard (US113) northbound at Speedway Road, Georgetown

Date of Occurrence: Friday September 14, 2012 at approximately 3:25 p.m.

Georgetown, DE- The Delaware State Police are investigating a crash involving a car and a motorcycle that occurred south of Georgetown yesterday.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:25 p.m. yesterday afternoon as Jazmyth A. Dennis was operating a 1991 Lexus LS400 westbound on Speedway Road stopped at the intersection of South DuPont Boulevard (US113). Dennis began to cross over US113 northbound when she pulled into the path of a 2007 Kawasaki Z1D motorcycle being operated by James Darling. The motorcycle struck the Lexus on the front driver’s side ejecting Darling from the bike and onto the roadway.

James Darling, who was wearing a helmet, was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to Beebe Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Jazmyth Dennis and her three passengers, who were all properly restrained, were not injured in the crash. Dennis was cited for Failure to Remain Stopped and Failure to Have Insurance in Possession.

Traffic in the area of the incident was impacted for approximately an hour and a half while the crash was investigated and cleared.
