Humanists Protest Long Standing Memorial To Vets

In the wake of the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, representatives from the American Humanist Association are calling for the long standing Peace Cross Memorial in Bladensburg to be taken down.
The AHA is calling for the removal of the memorial because they feel it is unconstitutional, violating the separation of church and state.
The cross which sits at the intersection of Route 1, Bladensburg Road, and Annapolis Road, was originally erected by the American Legion in 1922 to honor WWI veterans from Prince Georges County, is said to sit on government owned land, which poses a big issue for the humanist group.

You know what I would like to do but that cross won't fit where I'd tell those protestors to stick it...

I agree with 8:46. The cross needs to stay. I just don't know wth is wrong with people today. When I was a kid it was God Family and the American way of life. This is a sad messed up world now. Things were the way they should have been then.

you can't keep giving in to these groups. Now is the time to tell them to sit down and shut up.

What ever happened to the majority rules? How does a few people make policy decisions for all of us?

These people have a reading comprehension problem. The First Amendment consists of one simple, coherent, and understandable sentence. One.Sentence. Read it until you understand. If you can't, ask an English teacher; preferably a republican or Libertatian one.
