Very tragic & sad news.
I was at the beach and I know the waves were very rough. It was dangerous to go into the ocean even when lifeguards were on duty, and these kids went swimming when they were not on duty.

It is very sad that the tourons just don't abide by the rules. No lifeguard in the stand, keep your feet in the sand is pretty understandable for me.

Just because people can wade, it doesn't mean they can swim. Just because they can swim from one end of a small pool to another, doesn't mean they can really swim. When you go into the ocean and especially when the rip current is strong. You'd better be able to SWIM. Or, you may very well drown. Even with lifeguards. Very sad.

A young girl died and all you people bring up is no lifeguard on duty? That's sad! Rip currents can get anyone at anytime! My thoughts and prayers go out to her poor family!
