NAACP holds rally for Trayvon Martin in LA

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Civil rights leaders and relatives of Trayvon Martin and a slain California teenager joined together at a Los Angeles rally Thursday, urging justice and tolerance and called for action to stop the violence.

A photo of Martin wearing a hooded sweatshirt sat at the podium at the West Angeles Church of God in Christ with the word "Justice" written in red below his face. Martin was wearing a hoodie when he was shot on Feb. 26.

"There are Trayvons all over this country," the Rev. Al Sharpton told the cheering crowd. "What kind of world are we living in that we can put a black man in the White House, but a black man can't walk through a gated community?"

Excuuuuuse me! How about the other side of the story.....this is only more of the media deciding the court case instead of the jury.
If there wasn't a gun present, would we be reading about the beating death of George Zimmerman instead? We will never know the answer to that completely - even though there may be injury photographs to show the potential.

Where's the George Zimmerman rally?

In response to Al Sharpton...the White House is a gated community...gated communities are designed to control access for the benefit of those inside.

I am SOOOOOOOOOO Sick of hearing about poor Trayvon! as well as all the Al Sharpton's and NAACP folks. Get a grip, if he had been white Rev Sharpton it wouldn't matter to you would it?

this exemplifies the racism of the black people. because even with all the facts on the table, with all the truth in front of our faces, they STILL just see a black man getting shot by a "white" man.
ignorance will always prevail.

Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Farrakan (sp?) are the biggest racists in the country. If racism were to die tomorrow, they would be irrelevent - and broke! I say jail them for inciting riots and violent acts.

It is important to remember.
Once you make the decision to jump the only thing you can look forward to is the fall.

Ok Rev. Al. You did put a liar, crook, and not qualified to run black man in the White House. And you are proud of that?

He was a black juvinilewith a record.

Justice is being served. Zimmerman will have to answer for his actions (justified or not, a human being is still dead...no one should be able to do that without scrutiny).

Cops do it 20 times a day.
Scrutinized only by peer review.
Why don't you have a problem with that?

yawn. it's like beating a dead horse now.

The NAACP is nothing more than a hate group.

Just more racial bigotry.

why can't a black man walk through a gated community? The same reason a white man can't walk through a black neighborhood. Quit whining and be men.

Learn to live with others, without killing them. Stop blaming others for your problems, problems which they have no hand in.
