Incident: Driving Suspended

Location: Walston Switch Road, Parsonsburg, MD
Suspect: Catie L. Arvey, 27, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 19 February 2012 at 3:33 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle operated by Catie Arvey for speeding on Walston Switch Road. During the traffic stop, the deputy discovered that Arvey’s privilege to drive had been suspended by the State of Maryland. The deputy also discovered that Arvey was driving the vehicle with a temporary Delaware registration that had expired back in December 2011.
The deputy placed Arvey under arrest and transported her to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner released Arvey on Personal Recognizance.

Suspect: Evelyn Maria Gomez, 19, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 17 February 2012 at 11:09 PM a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle operated by Evelyn Gomez for erratic driving on Camden Avenue near South Boulevard. Upon contacting Gomez, the deputy detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. The deputy began sobriety testing which led to the arrest of Gomez for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The deputy also discovered that Gomez’s privilege to drive had been suspended by the State of Maryland.
The transported Gomez to the Maryland State Police barrack for further processing and a breath test. Gomez was released upon the issuance of citations.

Driving While Suspended
Incident: Vandalism
Date of Incident: 20 February 2012
Location: Scotland Parkway, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Male Juvenile, 16, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 20 February 2012 at 12:09 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into an act of vandalism that had occurred in the Nithsdale development. The deputy observed that someone had driven over a wide section of landscaping in an apparent attempt to drive into a field for the purpose of off road driving. The deputy managed to identify a possible suspect vehicle involved, a dark in color pickup truck. Armed with that information, the deputy patrolled the
neighborhood until he located a male juvenile in the process of washing a truck.
Through subsequent investigation, the deputy identified this juvenile as the responsible party who drive through the bushes.
The deputy charged the juvenile with Malicious Destruction of Property as this was an intentional act.
The juvenile was released to a parent and a juvenile referral will be sent to the Department of Juvenile Services for formal adjudication.
