Immigration Crackdown Also Snares Americans

'Just because I made one mistake ... I don't think they should have done all those things to me,' says U.S. citizen who was detained by mistake

A growing number of United States citizens have been detained under Obama administration programs intended to detect illegal immigrants who are arrested by local police.

In a spate of recent cases across the country, American citizens have been confined in local jails after federal immigration agents, acting on flawed information from Department of Homeland Security databases, instructed the police to hold them for investigation and possible deportation.

Welcome to the new Amerika. Innocent citizen? Who cares? Jail 'em. Put them in a cell with some REAL criminals and let some cititzens get a taste of what the Patriot Act and Homeland Security REALLY mean. I just hope they get a few of the "if you're not doing anything wrong, then why wory about your "rights"" people. Nothing like a dose of reality to clarify your views and positions. Maybe they can also get on the "no-fly" list and the IRS "audit til you're dead" list. Maybe a drone will start doing surveillance on their house and family. Or the FBI will break into their house while they are at work and do a quick search, without a warrant, of course, because THAT is no longer necessary when the government (mistakenly or not) thinks you are a "threat"....SEIG HEIL!!! Or USA! USA! USA!. Whichever one makes you feel the best.

The way the laws are written, innocent people are naturally going to get caught in the drag net. It's what we wanted, isn't it? To make sure every one is here legally?
