Criminal, Civil Penalties Imposed For Tree Clearing

Accused of illegally felling trees to get a better view from a waterfront Broadneck property, Emanuel Krousaniotakis is paying the price in both civil and criminal court.

Krousaniotakis pleaded guilty to one count in criminal court last week, while reaching a $10,000-plus settlement with the county in civil court last month.

This is the first completed Critical Area case in the county to feature simultaneous cases in civil and criminal courts.

This is nothing compared what property owners will face with the new regulations coming!

8:18 is right.
You don't own your property-- the state has taken control of it. You just bought the right to occupy it, but you'll do as they say or you will LOSE it.
If you doubt that, try not paying your taxes (or the mega-dollar fines for cutting down YOUR OWN TREES!!)

Again, we have an article about an out of town occurrence that talks about a "county" but does not name the county until 16 paragraphs into the text.

PLEASE identify which "county" you are dealing with in your headlines.

You could use something along the lines of:

"Criminal, Civil Penalties Imposed For Tree Clearing in Anne Arundel County"

I offer this as constructive criticism.

Even though I post this using my online account, you never seem to have the guts to post my comments.

Daddio- You will see more articles on SBYNews.com that do not have the name of the city, county, state, country and or the Continent in the title.

I have told you before I do not change titles of articles. Honestly you are the only one who has ever said anything.

As far as having the Guts to post your comment , Have you forgotten what site you are on???

We have more Guts then any other site or news source out there, but I think you already know that.

Merry Christmas Daddio to you and yours!

No, I have not forgotten what site this is. That last statement was put in there, because I have offered similar constructive criticism in the past, only to have my comments rejected.

I can understand rejecting offensive, anonymous, or off-topic comments, but I have not done any of those, and always used my google account when posting these things.

I am simply holding you to the task of enforcing the same rules that you claim to apply to everyone else.

And a Happy New Year to you too! :)

Maybe it has less to do with guts and more to do with quality of comments.

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in. A few years ago a lawyer cut down trees in Nanticoke for the same reason. The trees were not even on his property. Mr.M.R. told the the land owner that he was a lawyer and try to do something about it. The land owner was scared to file a complaint. It was blocking his view of the water.
This was and is in a critical area OF WICOMICO county.
