Animal experts hope whale will be able to swim normally
ORLANDO, Fla. -SeaWorld's animal rescue team has fitted a once-stranded pilot whale with a first-of-its-kind orthopedic brace to help straighten the whale's spine.
Animal experts at SeaWorld Orlando said they worked with Jewett Orthopedic to design the custom-fitted brace to treat the whale's scoliosis.
The brace can be slowly adjusted over time as the whale undergoes physical therapy, SeaWorld said.
