The Daily Times Editors Note ABOVE Campbell's Letter To The Editor Print Edition

“Editor’s Note:  The following is an opinion submission from Salisbury City Councilwoman Deborah Campbell.  As part of the routine city beat coverage, the reporter Campbell criticizes attended a Nov. 8 public meeting regarding the ongoing city charter petition effort; no “collusion” occurred.  Mayor Jim Ireton’s comments were part of a news release sent to all local media outlets.  The Daily Times stands by its Nov. 10 story and all subsequent reporting on the matter.”

Really Daily Times, it was a PUBLIC meeting? I wonder where this meeting was advertised? No wonder they pulled the online letter down the comments would have blown them away.

After reading Mrs. Campbell's letter and now this I'm dropping my subscription in the morning.

Well, it looks like I just wasted my last minute of time I used to use reading the deadly tines! Dropping my subscription in the morning as well!

Now everyone knows if this meeting were really public like this rag is claiming JT would have had it advertised on his blog, since he's so into this petition drive.
I've never seen such blatant lies.
Is this newspaper for real?

Who is this reporter Sarah Lake? I'm thinking she is some young inexpericenced journalist who is being used by the paper and others to further their agenda. In the meantime she is losing the most important asset a journalist can have and that's her integrity.

What a bunch of fools running that organization. They knew they wouldn't be able to take the heat so they pulled the online letter.
"Public" meeting my foot!

Public meeting? Only place I heard about what happened was from the Daily Times.

anonymous 6:52, this is nothing new with new reporters. Joe Carmean butchers up every article they write on City politics, yet stays under the radar as most people don't even know his name. There have been many reporters that left the DT's because of his tactics. While Debbie points the finger at this reporter, we all know who's really behind the BS.

I hope that these two articles are still front and center in teh morning. I would like to know if anyone can comment on whatever the ties are, if any, between Carmean and Kye Parsons and Ireton.

We have been long time subscribers to this newspaper, but not any more. Tomorrow morning, we as well will end the subscription and really wish we could move from this town. What a joke this place this.

9:40, don't move. Help people make it better. That's what they want, decent people giving up. Can you imagine the hell people like Campbell, Cohen and Spies and their families have been put through for giving a damn and defending the average person in this town? The bricks through their windows (Campbell and Spies) on the same night don't look so coincidental now, do they? You could not pay me enough to stick my neck out like they have, but those examples of human waste attacking the most honest council people we've had in years won't make me leave town.
