Troopers Probe Lewes Strong-Arm Robbery

Location: Parking lot of Uncle Willies, 17581 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE
Date of Occurrence: Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 12:05 a.m.

Victim: 46 year old Dagsboro, DE female (employee)

Suspect:

-White male last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue hooded sweat jacket, and tan work boots.

Resume:

Lewes, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a strong-arm robbery that occurred in the parking lot of a Lewes area store early this morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:05 a.m. as a 46 year old female employee had just exited the Uncle Willies store located in the 17000 block of Coastal Highway in Lewes, after closing for the night. As the victim began walking to her car, she was approached from behind by a male suspect who knocked her to the ground and demanded her pocketbook. The victim complied with the suspect’s request and turned her pocketbook over to him. The suspect then fled on foot in an eastbound direction. The victim received minor injuries but refused treatment.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this incident to contact Troop 4 at 302-856-5850. Maybe he needed cab money to get to the lincon, del home robbery that he was going to do later that night. I mean it ain't cheap now days to get around.
