Lawmakers Take Up Proposal To Raise Gas Tax

Drivers Question Wisdom Of Tampering With Per Gallon Tax

Lawmakers are taking up the proposal to raise gas tax by 15 cents per gallon in Annapolis on Tuesday.
The governor supports raising the state's gas tax for the first time in 20 years, but many drivers question the wisdom of tampering with the gas tax when they said they're already struggling to pay their bills.
Drivers said every trip to the pump is a drain on the wallet, as gas prices hover around $3.50 per gallon.

If the transportation fund needs more money, why do they not just put back the money they "borrowed" from it??
