Killing marks 100 murder victims in city this year
A 24-year-old man died after he was shot in the back in what may have been a robbery in West Baltimore late Tuesday night, police said.
Christopher Russell Samuel, of the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Ave., became the 100th person killed in Baltimore this year, two more than this time last year.
Police said the shooting was reported at 11:52 p.m. in the 500 block of Mosher Street, in the Upton community. Samuels was shot in the back, and witnesses said he may have run to the spot where he was found after being robbed and shot, police said. He did not appear to have a criminal record.

Chris was such a great person. He worked at Towson University and brought joy to all of the students there daily. We will miss seeing him. Condolences to the family.
