Brooke’s Day On April 17th

The daughter of Shane West, a 5-year employee at Market Street, and Tammy Shockley West, has recently been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer).  She is 13 years old and attends Wicomico Middle School.  Her journey with cancer began with pain and swelling in her right hip.  An MRI and biopsy confirmed the cancer.  Further tests indicate that Brooke has 4 tumors that have spread to her lungs.  She is currently undergoing chemo treatments and will eventually require surgery to remove the tumors in her lungs and hip.  She will also require hip replacement surgery.

On Sunday, April 17, we will be holding another “Brooke Lauren’s Day” at Market Street from 10:00 to 7:00.  Market Street will be donating 50% of all food sales to an account that is being established at The Bank of Delmarva which will benefit Brooke Shockley’s expenses and treatments associated with her cancer.  There will be a brunch and a lunch special and a regular dinner menu. There will be basket raffles and 50/50 drawings throughout the day.  We will also have balloons and face painting for the kids and each child will receive a free ice cream sundae.  Seating will be on a first come, first serve basis.
