Somerset County Sheriff's Office Press Release

Loretta Lee Phillips of Salisbury, arrested 12-17-10 on a warrant regarding failing to appear in court for child support. Phillips was later held on a $500.00 bond.
 
Tony Vernell Tilghman of Crisfield, arrested 12-17-10 on a warrant regarding failing to appear in  court. Tilghman was later held on a $500.00 bond.
 
Mashelle Gladys Boston of Marion, arrested 12-17-10 on a warrant regarding failing to appear in court for child support.
 
Victor Vaughn Armwood Jr. of Princess Anne, arrested 12-21-10 on a warrant regarding failing to appear in court. Armwood was later released after posting a $500.00 bond.
 
Gregory Lamont Cottman of Princess Anne, arrested 12-21-10 on a warrant regarding failing to appear in court for child support. Cottman was later released after posting a $500.00

does the somerset sheriffs do anything else other than pick people up on child support issues. seems to me that sheriff jones is keeping to the same ol routine.

So some of these deadbeats can find money to bail themselves out of jail but not support their kids. The money that is paid should go to the kids not the courts.

and if you pay attention they arrest the SAME deadbeats every other month.Repeat deadbeats.

If the courts were more balanced a lot of these could be avoided.

$500 bail for failure to appear... and I'm guessing they won't appear next time either.

If Maryland Child Support wasn't so screwed up, a lot of stuff like this wouldn't be happening. Yes, there are deadbeats out there...but there are a lot of horror stories out there too...not applying payments to accounts and then you get in trouble for not paying. Then you have a court date that they don't even notify you of. True story of a friend of mine.
