Salisbury Fire Department Simply Amazing!

Joe,
Just wanted to send a big thank you out to the Salisbury Fire Department who rang the bell from 9 to 9 yesterday at Giant Food.
Their volunteer efforts resulted in our biggest one day kettle of the season so far - $1158.82!!!
We cannot thank them and the rest of our volunteers enough for their dedication and good cheer - especially during these very cold days.
With the community's help, we will finish the Red Kettle Campaign on a very strong note.
On behalf of all the children, families and seniors who will benefit from the community's generosity,  THANK YOU!
Wishing everyone a blessed Christmas,
Volunteers and Staff
Red Kettle Campaign

Editors Notes: Last night I went into Giant and bought out ALL of their canned corn and green beans, literally. I parked and entered towards the south entrance of the store. I could hear the bell ringing at the north end and even though it would have been easier to exit the south end, I made sure I pushed a VERY loaded and heavy cart their way in order to drop a $5.00 bill into their bucket. I thanked each and every one of them for providing their time and mentioned the turkey giveaway this evening in the hopes they'll let those who need it the most show up and get a decent meal. Even though they were dressed in firefighter gear, this group of men and women were still cold and there was at least 6 of them ringing.
So on behalf of Salisbury News, THANK YOU TO ALL THE FIREFIGHTERS FROM THE SHORE FOR YOUR UNCONDITIONAL HELP AND SUPPORT.

There is something special about seeing a fireman or police officer in uniform ringing a bell. You just can't pass it by!

They truly understand the meaning of PUBLIC SERVICE. They see the worst of the worst and still continue to reach out to help others.

God Bless Them All!

Glad to see that you supported Giant. The manager there really tried to help the Salvation Army get more bell ringing time. He is a great guy and understands the community.

I've always shopped at Giant and will continue to do so - especially since learning about how hard the manager fought for our community against the corporate policy.

Joe - from what I see, there are a lot of great people and businesses that have supported the kettles.

It is really a who's who of the community. It is a very impressive operation to put that many volunteers all over town for so many days.

I've seen lots of students ringing too which makes me hopeful about the next generation!
