Update On Station 16

The Salisbury City Council advanced the proposed purchase to the next stage at today's City Council Meeting, which is negotiations with the buyer.  Then it will return to Council. There were only 3 members present, Cohen and Campbell were not there do to previous commitments.

Remember this when it comes to election time in April Folks. They have shoved so many projects down your throats, thinking they can continuously get away with it BECAUSE YOU DON'T CARE and they THINK they cannot be stopped. After all, you voted Comegys back into Office the last time.

Don't forget the Waste Water Treatment Plant, you know, the 99.9% compliant facility. The new Fire Station 16 at $14,000,000.00 and the old Mall TIFF. YOU need to let them know this is NOT what YOU, (as taxpayers) want.

Just how many other reminders do you need. Oh yeah, The Bricks.

It's a firehouse and it needs to stay a firehouse.

An engine company and an ambulance would be perfect for that facility. It could even be used as the "museum" of the Salisbury Fire Department and office space as well. The Mayor and Council would be foolish to give that firehouse away.

I will guarantee you that I will work hard to make sure anyone that supports giving the firehouse away will not get re-elected. Keep giving us excuses like this and your political careers will be short lived!

I am furious with the fluff these three stooges are approving, but when it comes to legislation that can make our community safer they wont even discuss it! The next election can't come soon enough! They should be held responsible the next time someone dies in the city. What is it going to take for them to act on the safe streets legislation? The next time someone is injured or killed it could be a child. I can't believe more residents in the city aren't as furious as I am! It makes ME want to run against these fools.

Why would we need 3 fire houses within half a mile of each other? St 16, St 2 and the downtown station?

What is the cost to the city tax payers to redo the downtown fire house to bring it up to

Why is station 2 going to be rebuilt acrosss the street from where it is (when they finally do it), instead of up on the North end of town where it should be.
-Give a real answer. Dont tell us its because the vollies live near it. That excuse wasnt even used with the new fire house so it shouldnt be used here.

Why does the fire department want to build a new brush truck for station 1 when there is a perfectly good fire truck at station 16? Transfer it to station 1.

Why didnt the city leave the administration at the downtown fire house and just build a smaller less expensive firehouse. Yes this one is beating a dead horse. It is done and we have to eat it.

Parsonsburg just built a beautiful station for $2.1 million, most of the money was raised by the department. Salisbury is proposing another $10 million fire house on Naylor Mill Road. WHY does Salisbury have to spend 10 million when Parsonsburg built an 8 bay station for 2.1 million? How much money do they think city taxpayers have?

If the citizenry is against anything, the council is for it. No matter what, new council, old council. They're all a bunch of liars! Every last one of them.

Sell off the old Zorro's building on Church Street and turn the old firehouse into the code and compliance department offices.

Yes, the fireboat with Gary voting, it's a done behind the scenes deal. And the new Chief supports the "free" $900,000, and the money totrain all the aid crews.
