Honoring Veterans

Dear Joe,

Too often we dwell on the negative aspects of  events or people that touch our lives and never take time to appreciate the good things that occur around us. Yesterday, Veterans' Day, Applebees went above and beyond it's "call of duty" to honor the men and women who have, or or now serving in our nation's military.

Not only did they serve free meals to all military, active or retired, but did it quickly and efficiently with additional staffing. Even though the parking lot was full to capacity, the wait was no more than half an hour.

What a wonderful evening with much back slapping, hand shaking and thank yous for service...a real reunion of sorts for all who served.

I know several other local businesses also offered free meals. What a wonderful way to say thank you for a job well done.
