Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Hamas has obtained air defense systems that are hindering Israel Air Force operations. In the first such acknowledgement, Netanyahu said Hamas has acquired advanced surface-to-air missiles that prevented Israeli Air Force operations over the Gaza Strip.
In an address to his Likud Party on Oct. 18, Netanyahu outlined the Hamas military threat to Israel. The prime minister said Hamas' new SAMs, which he did not identify, have been deployed around the Gaza Strip.
Over the last month, Egypt was said to have captured at least two shipments of SAMs destined for the Gaza Strip. The SAMs were believed to have been Iranian variants of the Russian-origin SA-14 shoulder-fired, short-range SAM.
Netanyahu said Hamas has also acquired long-range surface-to-surface missiles and rockets. He said these weapons could strike Israeli cities as well as Ben-Gurion International Airport.

Hamas should not have these weapons. Israel has no such weapons, nor do the Israelis' have white phosphorus bombs, cluster bombs, or atomic weapons. They have not used depleted uranium against the people of Palestine or Gaza. Israel is a peaceful country who only wishes to have the right to exist in a world where there are no Muslems.
You are correct about one thing 11:37 am - Hamas should not have these weapons.
Israel isn't run by leaders who are interested in wiping an entire people group off the face of the Earth. Hamas is. Israel has tried to negotiate in good faith. Hamas has not and clearly never will. In their own words:

11:37....Israel doesn't have atomic bombs? Are you kidding me. Do some fact searching before you post. Israel has the largest AND the only nuclear weapon arsenal in the entire Middle East. How do we know that? We gave them to them! Also, 3:05, the United States caused the Iranian situation that occurs today. That was completely Eisenhower and Carters fault. We have no one to blame Iran for but ourselves. 11:37....Israel is a peaceful country that only wants to exist in a world without Muslims? How is that peaceful. Would you say the same thing about the Nazis? Did they just want to live in a world without Jews? Finally, Israel, no Jewish Israelis, forced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in to refugee camps. You would think they would know how that feels, but I guess not.
5:15, last I checked all Obama did was say hey if you want to come to the table, we'll be there. Your "apologize" crap is simply Hannity talking points. Obama has also pushed through for tougher sanctions as well as made moves to provide a flexible, much more cost effective, and proven missle defense for the region. But oh yeah, he might have alot more leverage in the matter if the US could excercise a military option. But as I said before, we're already too bogged down because of the dummy republican war. Your welcome to respond when you have something other than hyperbole to offer.
Next time Israel goes after Hamas, we need to sitback, keep our mouths shut, give them what ammo they need, and let them finish this once and for all. The World needs Hamas as much as the world needs ticks, chiggers, snakes, and fleas.
Hey 7:03 pm - I offered my honest analysis of the matter at 2:43 pm but I notice that you didn’t respond to that. You only responded to the remark I made AFTER you drug W. into the argument for no reason except to divert attention from the core issue. Liberal bomb throwers are very much alike. They try to disparage their opponent by comparing them to something they think is extreme or by simply blaming Bush. You imply that I’m stupid. You have no idea who I am or where I’m from. I could be your wife/husband, your boss or minister. Try toning down the rederick and you won’t have to deal defensive replies like the one you elicited from me at 5:15 pm.
Even though Obama is trying to help and he deserves credit for trying I'm afraid it is a lost cause. Israel has tried but with the intense hatred of Hamas/Iran for Israel as noted at 2:43 pm I just don't see any way there can be peace in that land until Jesus comes back.
