I certainly hope that he sticks with Ivan Barkley. He has the respect of the officers currantly on the force, and has done a good job with the resources that he has to work with. He has also formed relationships with MSP and WCSO that did not exist when the previous idiot held the position.

How ever it pans out, I hope that the mayor and council will fully support the new chief by granting the resources that they so desperately need to to get the job done.

The SFD has bled us enough!

I am sure it will somebody from out of town. None of us here are smart enough to be a Fire Chief, Police Chief, build a school, build a car dealership or construct a street. Maybe next time we elect a city council we need to go out of town and see if we cant find people smart enough to run that. Oh! and by the way aint them electric lights something

it's too bad he didn't hire Ivan. I'm not sure how the mayor expects any chief to clean up the city without the resources to do so. As much as we all disliked Webster in many ways, he didn't stand a chance to clean up this city with the lack of resources. They didn't hire Ivan because the violence has only gotten worse, however they did not provide him with the needed resources either. I think its a shame that they spent all this money looking for a new chief, when it really doesn't matter. If they can't pay the officers to keep them, pay enough to attract good quality men and women and they don't have the money to put more officers on, i don't see how they expect to make the necessary changes! They are making unneccessary changes and not the necessary ones! Such a shame! It's really another crime!

I hope it is someone local, I remember seeing the EPD bring someone in from Baltimore years back and it about destroyed the department.

I wonder if it will be Chief Records

I just wish the CIA and miltary would stop smuggling illegal drugs into our country. Then, most of the crime on our streets would be dried up and we could go on with our lives.

They aren't growing coca plants or poppies in the back yards of Salisbury - you know?

1:37,

Why don't you run for office? Maybe you don't have the guts to do it, as these women did.

Hopefully this woman turns out to be great. BUT.... why go all the way to NY when there are plenty of good choices right here on the Shore. Including Mr. Barkley. Charles Barkley.

What has Barkley done in his short stint as acting police chief? Get over this 'in house' mentality. It has gotten us nowhere so far.
