First, my thanks to the citizens of Fruitland for allowing me to serve the City the last four years as your "hands on" number one volunteer job councilman.
Now, the issue at hand is the replacements for the retiring three councilmen who were dedicated to the responsibilities on behalf of the City. I attended the candidate's forum, reviewed their qualifications, and personally interviewed them, in order to make my choices for the three open seats.
My choices will, in my opinion, represent the City in the same manner that I have for the last four years. All three will make the time available to do the City's business, have a high level of integrity, will vote for what is best for Fruitland, have business and legal experience, have knowledge of the rules and laws that govern a municipal government, and fully understand the issues facing Fruitland, a City that has grown in a short period of time from a two million dollar budget to over six million plus the necessary loans.
Darlene "Dodie" Kerr, Charles "Chuck" Nichols and Richard "Lee" Outen are my choices and I suggest should be your choice for the next Fruitland City Council.

Lee Outen has my vote. I have talked to him many times. He does not have all the answers, but he certainly is willing to work for the solution

Yes, Councilman-- that is the problem in a nutshell-- certainly not something to brag about.
Hopefully, Lee Outen, Dodie Kerr and maybe Ed Cowell can get this back under control, so that the citizens of Fruitland won't go broke paying their taxes and fees to support this bloated town government.
Not trying to be negative however, Cowell is a nice guy and intelligent, but it is hard for me to vote for him considering he couldn't make up his mind about running till last week. He and one of the other candidates didn't even bother to attend the candidate forum so that public could hear some things about them. If you don't make something as simple as that a priority, how can people be sure that you will make Fruitland one of your priorities for the next 4 years? We need help here in Fruitland, in case you don't know, our water and sewer bill will be nearly $300 per quarter after the next increase takes effect. I am going to vote for people that I know are going to work for Fruitland, and not just when it suits their schedule. The three people that Tull said, probably are the best choices.

I like Tull's choices. He was a hard working councilman and will be missed. Fruitland is a great little town with an active Chamber of Commerce, leadership in the church community, and an excellant police force. Let's hope that whoever is elected will at the very least " do no harm ".
I certainly have to take my hat off to the people that are running for any office right now. Especially Fruitland. What a mess and what seems like a hopeless situation they are signing up for. Hopefully they can try to make a difference. Thank you Mr. Tull for your years of service, and good luck to the three candidates you are endorsing.
Cowell may have had a legitimate excuse for not attending the usual lightly attended forum. Hardly an excuse to eliminate him if he indeed is eligible and intelligent enough to get some much needed work done in Fruitland government. Fruitland people who know Tull are still wondering how he was elected in the first place. All those absentee ballots he took around and brought back himself! His endorsements are questionable in my mind now.
3:39 pm, If Cowell will make himself available then great. However, he hasn't shown thus far that he is willing to do that. You could be the smartest person in the world, but if you don't show up, it really doesn't matter. As for Tull, not sure what you are talking about in regards to absentee ballots, but there is a procedure in place and if the rules were followed then there is nothing to question. Who would you endorse? I for one will make up my own mind regardless of who someone endorses, but more than likely, at least 2 of Tulls choices will probably be mine since I would like to see some people get on that will hopefully do something. I don't call flip flopping on running or not running, and at the last minute throwing a bunch of signs out and getting a bunch of kids to shove fliers in mailboxes to assuring that that person will give the taxpayers of Fruitland an honest effort for the next four years.
