Rep. Kratovil’s Record Far From “Independent”

Congressman has “political amnesia” when it comes to failed Stimulus package, Cap-and-Trade energy tax

ANNAPOLIS – Rep. Frank Kratovil (D-MD1)
started his TV commercial campaign with a 30-second spot where he describes himself as “independent” and unconcerned with “Democrats and Republicans.” Unfortunately, the Congressman must have been suffering from a case of “political amnesia” when producing the advertisement. Kratovil voted for the failed $800 billion Stimulus package which did not create enough jobs for the money and a Cap-and-Trade energy tax which would dramatically increase costs for struggling Maryland families.

“When it came time for important votes, Rep. Kratovil’s record shows that he consistently sided with Speaker Nancy Pelosi over Maryland families,” said Americans for Prosperity-Maryland state director Dave Schwartz. “By voting for Pelosi’s failed Stimulus package, Rep. Kratovil grew the deficit by more than $800 billion without creating enough jobs for the money. By voting for Pelosi’s Cap-and-Trade energy tax, he assured that Maryland families and businesses will be paying more for gas and electricity. The Congressman’s record is far from independent.”

Rep. Kratovil has failed to meet with members of Americans for Prosperity after countless invitations were sent to his Congressional offices. With 8 local AFP chapters that meet monthly in the 1st Congressional district, Kratovil has had ample time to hear the concerns of local constituents on issues such as jobs, tax policy and government spending. Instead, he has chosen to ignore Americans for Prosperity.

Hey Joe, am I wrong, or wasn't he hung in effigy, at one of the gatherings for the AFP? If so, that could have a little something to do with the bad blood. I really doubt he is afraid to answer questions, but more than likely knows that an AFP town hall would be more of a drive-by looking to take him down instead of an honest exchange of viewpoints.

Shame on Kratovil for not hosting any town hall meetings.

Why would he meet with the AFP? They hung him in effigy. I saw it here on your blog. That Calpino idiot with the rest of the crazies downtown. And why haven't we seen Arrogant Andy down here on the Shore at all? Still not ready to slum with the locals, Andy? I'm not voting for anybody from Baltimore County.
