OC Health And Racquet Club To Close Their Doors

I just spoke with the representative from Wilmington Trust regarding the OC Health and Racquet Club. They plan to close the building either today or Saturday morning.

Their plan is to chain the doors, then change the locks.

They will have a greeter at the door the morning they shut it down with flyers telling customers when they can retrieve personal items from the lockers.

Another dead dream, sorry to hear it. Remember the things that dont kill us always make us stronger.

The economy is hitting the money bag pockets now.

"money bag pockets" ... that's the phrase you're going to go with huh? Perhaps 20 minutes with a dictionary/thesaurus and a 5th grade English teacher would help to end your IQ recession

it might not be the economy, the owners tried about 5 years ago to build a new building with shops and condos, and got shot down by the city. maybe thier tired and ready to retire

Are the Fursts gonna refund the balance on all memberships paid or are they gonna steal that money?

Decent, hard working. A family operation. Ocean City could use more folks like them.

Their plans for expansion of their club into a health center which would have been of service to the community were turned down several years back by the Ocean City planning "geniuses". You know, the planning "geniuses", the same visionaries that approved the 20,000 formerly $800K (now vacant) condos.

Coaches Corner and Ocean City health club both operated by Furst family have now been forced shut. Can't be a coincidence.

Joe: I just left OC Health and Racquet Club. They are closing today, Saturday, at 6:00 PM.

Anonymous 8:01. The Furst family is a decent, hard working group of people. They are not crooks. Shame on you. You probably don't even know them.

Anonymous 9:27. Coach's Corner was closed when their lease expired and the landlord refused to renew. The landlord wanted to run the restaurant, which is certainly the landlord's right, but it has nothing to do with the financial management of Coach's Corner.

Kudos to the Furst family. They are a good hardworking local family whose loyalty to the Ocean City community was not appreciated by the "honest" movers and shakers of the town. I am curious as to why the bank wants to take back a property in this economic climate. If there was an investor who wanted to invest in this business why not let it happen. For those of us who live here as well as those who just use the club occasionally, search your memories, remember how supportive this family has been to this community. This health club had the best selection of classes, great instructors, and it was a meeting place. Something is wrong here.

Anyone who knows the Fursts knows where any profit went. Sniff, Sniff.

If the Fursts are the decent people some of you are claiming, then they will refund all the prorated time on all the prepaid memberships.
If they don't do this, then they are common thieves who violated people's trust.

I used to be a member when I lived in OC, It was a good club and the Furst's are fine and decent people. It's a shame.accomen
