SHEILA DIXON GUILTY: JUSTICE IS SERVED BUT BALTIMORE PAYS A PRICE
Annapolis, MD – The conviction of Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon validates, once again, the principles of our judicial system. Especially in these tough times, Americans demand and deserve elected officials to serve in an honorable manner that is above reproach and certainly not above the law.
Maryland Republican Party Chairman Audrey Scott stated, “The act of stealing from the poor, and the most vulnerable of the poor, the children, is unconscionable. Mayor Dixon took an oath of office and assumed the responsibility of a role model. She failed miserably at both. It is unfortunate that the citizens she represents are subject to this embarrassment and disappointment.”

She should be removed from office, but she won't be. I can see Judge Sweeney giving her probation before judgment which will essentially nullify her conviction. Somewhere along the line we, as a society, have learned to accept a little thievery from our elected officials as being okay. You can see how urgent dealing with Charlie Rangels and Chris Dodd's illegalities are in Congress.
