Your Tax Dollars Hard At Work?

From The Metropolitan Magazine

Leave it to a "Feel Good Democrat Mayor" to use the most expensive piece of advertising money can possibly but to promote WHAT!

MOST of those people in that photo should have already been FIRED, yet this Mayor boasts about them and what they do for the City of Salisbury. Sorry Jim but you're an Idiot sometimes.

While you're looking down the barrel of a loaded gun, crime through the roof, layoffs inevitable, property tax reductions, income tax reductions, foreclosures, are you out of your freakin mind?

Sorry Folks, this one really ticked me off. The City doesn't have a PENNY to spare right now and they're pissing away money like this. I mean, at least spend it here on Salisbury News. No, seriously Folks. Even IF the City came to me today and said they wanted to pay for advertising something like this I would either REFUSE to take their business or we'd simply run it for FREE. Something that just isn't done in this magazine.

It is funny how you can tell when a person doesnt belong in a tie, you can spot them right off.

The Metro was alot better when it was small before Hank sold it, back then it had heart.

Oh man!
They'll come out with some lame excuse that the money had already been budgeted before the economy tanked.

Joe, you should run for MD GOP chairmen, seems they are going broke.

The Mayor once again is demonstrating poor judgement in another area. No expenditure of this type should have been made in this economic down turn. I addition, the selection of the Metropolitan Magazine which has a very limited market, would never be a toolo to use to get the most "bang for the buck". Once again poor judgement.

The citizens and taxpayers of Salisbury have been duped again!

Just because you budget for something doesn't mean you have to spend it on that item. If your money was running thin would you take from your entertainment to pay your electric? The city doesn't do that, they just keep pissing money into the wind like they can print more. AND, they can, by simply raising taxes. It's coming folks, you watch and see, it's coming.

Your mayor has lost it , oh that's right , he never had it! Give the prisoners a raise and then this ,
you gotta be kidding me. I think he
needs a new bra , he's grown out of this one. What a pussey.

Isn't this a $1200 ad? I don't think the city is getting a good return on their investment. Come to think of it, I doubt many businesses see a good return advertising in the Metropolitan.

Metro would have even less readership if it was not free.It just doesnt appeal to me because it is geared towards the mega affluent.Just look at the ads.

I agree with you...it's a snob rag and appeals to those people who think money makes the person. And the advertising rates are absurd.

What a joke! Anybody that wants someone to think they are 'Somebody" pays to have their picture in this rag. I quit picking it up years ago.

Maybe the ad was free. Did the city record an in-kind donation?

What is all this weird stuff about giving prisoners a raise? Ireton's got no power on that. He was in Annapolis recently, but it was to get a crime grant or something.

Looking at that picture makes me ill. About half that bunch needed to be canned.

Help is on the way, my a$$.

Speaking of our tax dollars...why is stimulus money going to UPGRADE the NEW fire station?

It's official: the new mayor proudly stands with HIS administration...many the same people who opposed him and other citizens.

Missed his chance to get in decent people and now the town is screwed.

10:51, the better question is, since they were allegedly under budget, why the hell didn't they spend the money and get it right the first time? The energy savings could begin next year if they had. $10 million, and they couldn't go a few thousand more to save energy and costs.

Just like Salisbury.
