This is really bugging the crap out of me, and boy would I love to hear peoples' answers, including yours if you don't mind:
Wicomico County has historically had the highest income taxes of any county in Maryland. If we don't have enough police, water that may or may not come out of the pipes hard enough to take a shower, streets full of graffiti, gangs and prostitutes, and poorly maintained public facilities such as the zoo and parks and roads.... What's happening to all of our money? Where is it all going?

Let's not forget the landfill fiasco. That was taxpayers money that was stolen. I agree with the last three comments. When are the people going to take back our government?

We don't have the highest income taxes in Maryland. There is your answer.
The problem is that we have a County Executive form of government with several municipalities. Dissolve the charters of these towns and this will be the start of resolving our problems. ONE GOVERNMENT!!
It works in other counties.
Don't hold your breath for an answer. A recent series of letters written to the office of Budget and Management and copied to the Governors office has requested an audit into the practices and spending of the City of Salisbury. Trust me when I find out what to do I will let the entire world now it not just the blog. I have no doubts that in the line of investigation the mayor and her puppets are as dirty as any in the country.
You can have high taxes but generate very little income if many people (and businesses) are not paying taxes.
