CBO spells danger for House-sponsored 'Medicare for all
More than 100 House Democrats have endorsed a "Medicare for all" plan which would eradicate private health insurance, and every single senator running for president, with the sole exception of Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, has backed single-payer. So the Congressional Budget Office put it to the test, and needless to say, it's not pretty.
Every American who sits even a centimeter and a half to the left of Paul Krugman understands that the cost component of "Medicare for all" renders it immediately untenable. In the arguably most comprehensive valuation of the bill as proposed by 2020 hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., the Mercatus Center conservatively estimated that the bill would cost $32.6 trillion in its first decade. That would roughly double our federal spending, and so far, not one Democrat has announced a tax or a combination of taxes that would remotely fund it.

Terror in Alabama: Walking you through an accused terrorist's compound
MACON COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) —A WPMI report uncovered a terrorist compound right here in Alabama. A federal search warrant WPMI obtained says this compound was similar to the terror cell's desert compound in New Mexico that was raided last summer. Siraj Wahhaj and four others are now facing federal terrorism, kidnapping and firearms charges.
The property in question is located 6 miles from downtown Tuskegee. Drone footage we shot shows what the federal search warrant described as a "makeshift military-style obstacle course" consisting of "five-gallon buckets with chain link fencing over the top." The search warrant says it "resembled an obstacle course similar to what the military uses to low crawl."
Agents from the FBI Mobile field office also conducted aerial surveillance and says in its search warrant that the structure on this sight was "designed" the same way as the one in New Mexico. Both were "surrounded with hundreds of vehicle tires, assorted trash, and both structures have wooden pallets with clear plastic tarps draped over them."

FamilyTreeDNA Admits to Sharing Genetic Data With FBI
The president of FamilyTreeDNA, one of the country’s largest at-home genetic testing companies, has apologized to its users for failing to disclose that it was sharing DNA data with federal investigators working to solve violent crimes.
In the booming business of consumer DNA testing and genealogy, FamilyTreeDNA had marketed itself as a leader of consumer privacy and a fierce protector of user data, refusing, unlike some of its competitors, to sell information to third parties.
But unbeknown to its users, the Houston-based firm quietly and voluntarily agreed in 2018 to open its database of more than two million records to the F.B.I. and examine DNA samples in its laboratory to identify suspects and victims of unsolved crimes.
FamilyTreeDNA confirmed the deal on Thursday, in a report by Buzzfeed News, setting off a backlash among its loyal users who felt betrayed and igniting another debate over privacy and ethical issues with investigators using genealogical sites to solve crimes.
In an email to its users, the company’s president, Bennett Greenspan, defended the agreement with the F.B.I. but apologized for not revealing it sooner.
“I am genuinely sorry for not having handled our communications with you as we should have,” Mr. Greenspan wrote, according to a copy of the email obtained by The New York Times. “We’ve received an incredible amount of support from those of you who believe this is an opportunity for honest, law-abiding citizens to help catch bad guys and bring closure to devastated families.”
The news underscored the lack of universal regulations governing direct-to-consumer genetic testing in the United States and how companies can use their data without consumers’ knowledge.

President Donald Trump turned up the pressure on China on Sunday, threatening to hike tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods.
Trump's comments, delivered on Twitter, came as a Chinese delegation was scheduled to resume talks in Washington on Wednesday aimed at resolving a trade war that has shaken financial markets and cast gloom over the world economy.
Trump turned up the heat by saying he would raise import taxes on $200 billion in Chinese products to 25% from 10% on Friday.

Why a DNA data breach is much worse than a credit card leak
[About a year ago], DNA testing service MyHeritage revealed that hackers had breached 92 million of its accounts. Though the hackers only accessed encrypted emails and passwords — so they never reached the actual genetic data — there’s no question that this type of hack will happen more frequently as consumer genetic testing becomes more and more popular. So why would hackers want DNA information specifically? And what are the implications of a big DNA breach?
One simple reason is that hackers might want to sell DNA data back for ransom, says Giovanni Vigna, a professor of computer science at UC Santa Barbara and co-founder of cybersecurity company Lastline. Hackers could threaten to revoke access or post the sensitive information online if not given money; one Indiana hospital paid $55,000 to hackers for this very reason. But there are reasons genetic data specifically could be lucrative. “This data could be sold on the down-low or monetized to insurance companies,” Vigna adds. “You can imagine the consequences: One day, I might apply for a long-term loan and get rejected because deep in the corporate system, there is data that I am very likely to get Alzheimer’s and die before I would repay the loan.”
MyHeritage doesn’t offer health or medical tests, but many companies, like 23andMe and Helix, do. And there are plenty of players interested in DNA: researchers want genetic data for scientific studies, insurance companies want genetic data to help them calculate the cost of health and life insurance, and police want genetic data to help them track down criminals, like in the recent Golden State Killer case. Already, we lack robust protections when it comes to genetic privacy, and so a genetic data breach could be a nightmare. “If there is data that exists, there is a way for it to be exploited,” says Natalie Ram, a professor of law focusing on bioethics issues at the University of Baltimore.

You Are Now More Likely To Know A Prostitute Than A Primetime CNN Viewer
Donna Summer sings, "No one seems to know her name, and even less about the place from where she came," in her 1976 song Lady of the Night. Flash forward 40 years and it seems those lyrics are more applicable to the nightly CNN audience than they are to a prostitute. As reported by Newsbusters, the latest cable news ratings indicate that CNN primetime has just 760,000 viewers, officially making members of the oldest profession more prominent in America than fans of the cable news network.
Newsbusters Rich Noyes reports there are an estimated 1 million prostitutes currently in the United States, meaning there are 240,000 more people out there whose profession is known as the politically correct "sex worker" than are folks tuning into CNN each evening for their news.

Biden claims he 'doesn't have time' to give details on his healthcare plan
Joe Biden won't give details on how he plans to offer a public healthcare option for Americans.
Throughout his tour of Iowa and South Carolina, Biden has repeatedly stressed how healthcare is now a "human right" and that he will help finish the job of Obamacare by creating the ability for Americans to buy into Medicare instead of relying on private health insurance.
In South Carolina, Biden spoke again about a Medicare buy-in program, but declined to point to a specific bill. He said in Iowa City last week: “I don’t have time; I don’t want to keep you standing any longer.”

Biden's son under scrutiny for helping China spy on Muslims
The son of Democrat presidential front-runner Joe Biden is under scrutiny for allegedly investing in a surveillance app used to spy on Muslims in China.
Hunter Biden, son of the 2020 hopeful, backed an investment firm that designed the spying apparatus, according to a new report released a day after the Trump administration criticized China for mass detention of Muslims.
The new information surfaced Saturday as the former vice president has come under scrutiny over his son's business ties to the Ukraine.
Hunter Biden served on the board of a Ukrainian energy company, Burisma Holdings, during the time when the Obama administration was looking to take actions against Russia for invading Eastern Ukraine.

Ilhan Omar And Rashida Tlaib Attack Israel, Defend Palestinian Terror Attacks
Far-left Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) attacked Israel on Sunday and defended the Palestinian terrorist attacks that targeted Israel over the weekend.
The Jerusalem Post reported that approximately 700 rockets were fired at Israel from Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip and that the Iron Dome intercepted approximately 173 of the rockets.
"Terror groups Hamas and Islamic jihad in Gaza have fired over 700 rockets at Israel since Friday, killing four Israelis and wounding dozens," The Jerusalem Post reported, adding: "Defiant Hamas and Islamic Jihad officials said on Sunday that they don’t rule out the possibility that the current round of fighting in the Gaza Strip could lead to an all-out war with Israel."
"The latest round of violence began two days ago when an Islamic Jihad sniper fired at Israeli troops, wounding two soldiers," Reuters reported.
Omar and Tlaib, who are both well-documented anti-Semites, rushed to attack Israel and defended the terrorism that was being carried out against Israel.

Voter Fraud Charges Endanger Texas Mayor, Topple Another in NJ
In a tale of two city mayors arrested last week on vote fraud charges, one resigned while the other says a jury will decide.
Edinburg, Texas, Mayor Richard Molina doesn’t plan to go anywhere. Molina won the mayor’s race in November 2017 by 1,240 votes. But on April 25, Texas Rangers arrested the mayor and his wife, Dalia, alleging the couple ran a vote fraud scheme to put him in office.
After about a week of silence, the mayor said Thursday the charges won’t affect his job, and asked Edinburg residents to respect his constitutional rights to due process.
“We respectfully deny any criminal wrongdoing and look forward to defending ourselves in the proper venue. That is a courtroom,” Molina said in the video statement. “These charges will not affect my ability to perform the people’s work as your mayor. I only ask that you respect our constitutional right to a fair trial and due process.”
Prosecutors allege the Edinburg mayor and his wife had numerous voters change their address to places they didn’t live, including an apartment complex the mayor owns, so they could vote for him in the Nov. 7, 2017, race. Those who moved included paid campaign workers.

Remember when Obama made fun of Trump's 'magic wand' to fix the economy?
Three years ago, then-president Barack Hussein Obama (D) mocked the plans of his sure-not-to-be-successor, Donald J. Trump (R), for the country, comparing them to his oh, so successful eight-year "scandal free," high unemployment, high food stamp use, successful administration.
To Obama's shock and dismay, Trump is president. For the past two and a half years, Trump has been waving his magic wand, banishing burdensome regulations; lowering taxes; appointing savvy people to top government posts; and yes, negotiating.
"He just says, 'I'm gonna negotiate a better deal.' Well how? How exactly are you going to negotiate that?" Obama said during the town hall portion of the event. "What magic wand do you have? And usually the answer is, he doesn't have an answer."Well, that was then. And this is now.
To Obama's shock and dismay, Trump is president. For the past two and a half years, Trump has been waving his magic wand, banishing burdensome regulations; lowering taxes; appointing savvy people to top government posts; and yes, negotiating.
As Petition Nears 300K To Impeach Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Evidence Exposes Her Lies About Residency To Run For Office
Taqiyya, it's prominent in Islam, and here's Michigan's own Rep. Rashida Tlaib engaging in it to influence law in America. The petition to impeach Talaib is nearing 300,000, and as it does, evidence has been obtained that proud, Islamist, Palestinian, anti-American representative Rashida Tlaib lied about her residency to run for office by registering to vote at a false address.
Now, it's one thing when a reporter says that Tlaib lied about her address, as many people will claim bias, which every single reporter or commentator has when they write or report. It's another thing when her father says that she lied, and this is the basis for the petition to impeach her as she does not represent the district that she allegedly won, and I say that loosely given the massive amount of voter fraud.
First, from Patrick Howley at Big League Politics on the evidence that we now know about concerning Tlaib's lies to become a US representative.

Why Your Gasoline Won't Take You As Far As It Used To
Over the weekend, I saw a passing reference on Twitter to the declining energy content of gasoline. Intuitively I know this to be correct for reasons I discuss below. But the poster linked to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) that I hadn’t previously seen.
The EIA doesn’t directly tabulate the energy content of gasoline. But they do provide two pieces of data that let us calculate it ourselves from two relevant tables in the April 2019 Monthly Energy Review.
Table 3.5 provides Petroleum Products Supplied by Type in thousands of barrels per day, while Table 3.6 provides Heat Content of Petroleum Products Supplied by Type in trillion Btus per year.
From the annual numbers, doing the appropriate conversions (which includes accounting for leap years) provides the energy content of gasoline, in BTUs per gallon, since 1949. What we find is that the EIA reported a constant energy content of gasoline from 1949 to 1992 of 125,071 Btu/gallon. I have always typically used 125,000 Btu/gal as the standard value for gasoline.

Vanity Fair: Hunter Biden’s $1.5 Billion Bank of China Deal ‘Looming on the Horizon’ as Campaign Scandal
A $1.5 billion sweetheart deal Hunter Biden’s private equity firm secured from the state-owned Bank of China is “looming on the horizon” as a potential line of attack against his father’s 2020 presidential campaign, according to Vanity Fair’s Tina Nguyen.
This comes days after a New York Times article renewed interest in the revelations exposed in Peter Schweizer’s 2018 bestseller Secret Empires concerning the sweetheart deals Hunter Biden’s private equity firm secured while his father, Joe Biden, was vice president.
But the Times’ article “may be just the first volley in what is likely to become a broader war over Joe Biden’s conduct and record,” Vanity Fair’s Nguyen writes:

Amnesty Activists Demand Criminals Get Path to Citizenship
The DREAM Act has reportedly temporarily stalled in the House because amnesty activists are insisting that Democrats grant a pathway to citizenship to illegal immigrants who have committed crimes.
According to a Thursday evening Politico report, the pro-amnesty legislation that House leaders have prioritized as one of the most important of this Congress is now reportedly “on hold, with Democrats scrambling to draft language that can secure enough votes in committee and on the floor” without exposing moderate Democrats to some uncomfortable votes before their 2020 reelection races.
The bill, authored by Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA), would give so-called Dreamers who have not committed a felony or three misdemeanors a pathway to citizenship (“conditional permanent resident status”).
Some moderate House Democrats, according to the report, “worry the language in the bill is too broad and want to consider changes so that committing only certain misdemeanors would allow people to remain on the path to citizenship.”
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) has vowed to pass the Dream Act as soon as possible.

TRUMP PROPOSAL AIMS TO MAKE IT EASIER TO DEPORT IMMIGRANTS USING PUBLIC BENEFITS
The White House is considering a proposal to make it easier to deport low-income immigrants who are dependent on public benefits.
The Department of Justice has written a draft regulation that, if implemented, would greatly expand the number of immigrants in the U.S. who could be subject to deportation for using public benefits, Reuters reported Friday. The new proposal is part of the Trump administration’s larger effort to limit immigration from low-income foreign nationals.
Such benefits include the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly referred to as “food stamps;” Supplemental Security Income (SSI) doled out to the elderly and disabled people; Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF); Section 8 housing vouchers and various Medicaid benefits.

SADIQ KHAN has been shunned by the Queen, who has not invited the London Mayor to US President Donald Trump’s state banquet at Buckingham Palace.
Labour’s Mr Khan was left off the guest list by the Monarch, despite announcing he would be happy to meet the American. Just before 4am this morning while I was coming home from a 12 hour security duty shift in Ocean City, a 17 year old Spanish girl hit the guard rail on 50 West bound, flipped her vehicle on its side...and tore the guard rail off... that laid covering most of 50.
She climbed out waived myself and a black motorcycle driver down for assistance.
We checked her for injuries, and asked if anyone else was in vehicle....calling 911...
I was surprised and impressed at all the support we received from other motorist who also stopped to help, and were of different races.
I saw the American Spirit at work this morning, for these various races joined together to help this young lady injured who was crying and scared.
Bystanders used their phones to contact the girls family ( in conversations with her). while we checked for others in the destroyed vehicle.
When State Police, EMS arrived, we provided them with as much details we knew about the incident.
The American Spirit still lives among blacks. whites and the Spanish folks on the scene.
Don't let the alphabet media deceive you regarding President Trump and the American Spirit.
May readers offer support and prayers to this young lady and her family....and thank God for all those involved in this incident this morning.

Trump could be the most honest president in modern history
Donald Trump may be remembered as the most honest president in modern American history. Don’t get me wrong, Trump lies all the time. He said that he “enacted the biggest tax cuts and reforms in American history” (actually they are the eighth-largest) and that “our economy is the strongest it’s ever been in the history of our country” (which may one day be true, but not yet). In part, it’s a New York thing — everything is the biggest and the best.
But when it comes to the real barometer of presidential truthfulness — keeping his promises — Trump is a paragon of honesty. For better or worse, since taking office, Trump has done exactly what he promised he would do.
Trump kept his promise to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, something his three immediate predecessors also promised yet failed to do. He promised to “crush and destroy ISIS,” and two years later he is on the verge of eliminating Islamic State’s physical caliphate. He promised to impose a travel ban on countries that he saw as posing a terrorist threat, and after several false starts the final version of his ban was upheld by the Supreme Court.

Is Smith Island Sinking? Army Corp. Of Engineers’ Multi-Million Dollar Project Hopes To Stop Erosion
SMITH ISLAND, MD. (WJZ) — Maryland has only one inhabited island with no bridge connecting it to the mainland — Smith Island.
People have been living on this tiny spit of land for almost 350 years, against all odds; fighting wind, tides, and erosion.
Now, the Army Corps of Engineers, the state and Somerset County are celebrating a multi-million dollar project aimed at “Saving Smith Island.”
Water is at the center of life on this island. Three tiny villages make up one small community living off the bounty of the water that surrounds them.
“It’s hard to beat…the people, the place, the uniqueness, it’s not for everybody, we know that,” said Eddie Somers, Smith Island United.
Few Marylanders ever do make the journey, over the Bay Bridge, all the way south to Crisfield, taking an hour’s ferry ride out into the Chesapeake — the only way to reach Smith Island.

Close to 200 tons of gunk pulled from OC storm drains
In 25 days of work, Ocean City Public Works crews cleaned out more than 24,000 linear feet of storm drain piping and removed what amounted to about 196.5 tons of sand and sediment.
Public Works Director Hal Adkins and Deputy Director Woody Vickers provided a summary of the work at the City Council work session Tuesday.
According to Adkins, the cleanup, which also involved 144 catch basins and 31 manholes, removed 131 cubic yards of material. That would fill up about eight large dump trucks, Vickers said.
Several phases of work focused on the areas of Sinepuxent Avenue from 146th to 130th Street, Jamaica Avenue from 127th to 123rd Street, and Philadelphia Avenue from 14th to 9th Street.

Wealthy Elitists Freak Out As Hordes Of Homeless People Take Over Their Neighborhoods All Over The West Coast
The elite are very “tolerant” of the homeless until they start showing up in their own neighborhoods.
Even though the mainstream media keeps telling us that the U.S. economy is “booming”, the number of Americans living on the streets continues to grow very rapidly, and this is particularly true in our major west coast cities. More than half a million Americans will sleep on the streets of our cities tonight, and they need help, care and shelter. Sadly, as economic conditions deteriorate that number is likely to double or even triple. Of course many among the elite are all in favor of doing something for the homeless, as long as they don’t have to be anywhere around them.
For example, let’s talk about what is going on in Los Angeles. No city on the west coast has a bigger problem with homelessness than L.A. does, and many in the homeless population enjoy camping out on the beautiful beaches in the L.A. area at night.
But of course many of the elite that paid millions of dollars for beachfront property are not too thrilled about this. Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten was a key symbol of anti-establishment rebellion in the 1970s, but now he is freaking out because homeless people are making life very difficult for him and his wife in Venice Beach, and what he recently told Newsweek’s Paula Froelich is making headlines all over the nation…
He told her the homeless situation in his swanky LA neighborhood is so bad that thieves are tearing the bars from the windows of his multimillion-dollar home, lobbing bricks, setting up unsightly tent cities and littering the beach with syringes.

Berlin Council Cuts Proposed Tax Hike To 19% With Another Smaller Increase Coming Next Year
BERLIN – Elected officials agreed to cut a proposed property tax increase to 18% following weeks of public outcry.
In a budget work session Monday, members of the Berlin Town Council agreed conceptually to an 18% increase — which would make the rate 80 cents per $100 of assessed land value — in the next fiscal year starting July 1 to be followed by a to-be-determined increase for next fiscal year. They council also agreed to raise water rates 5% and sewer rates 25% to ensure the enterprise funds don’t need to borrow from the general fund.
“Let it be known the Town of Berlin is not considering a 30% tax increase for the coming year,” Councilman Dean Burrell said.
At a well-attended special work session Monday, officials quickly agreed to rate increases of 5% and 25% for water and sewer. Though they initially discussed a sewer increase spread over five years, staff said Monday the immediate increase would eliminate any shortfalls in the fund and would provide the town with time to study rates further going forward.

Facebook Bars Alex Jones, Louis Farrakhan and Others From Its Services
SAN FRANCISCO — After years of wavering about how to handle the extreme voices populating its platform, Facebook on Thursday evicted seven of its most controversial users — many of whom are conservatives — immediately inflaming the debate about the power and accountability of large technology companies.
The social network said it had barred Alex Jones, the conspiracy theorist and founder of Infowars, from its platform, along with a handful of other extremists. Louis Farrakhan, the outspoken black nationalist minister who has frequently been criticized for his anti-Semitic remarks, was also banned. The Silicon Valley company said these users were disallowed from using Facebook and Instagram under its policies against “dangerous individuals and organizations.”
“We’ve always banned individuals or organizations that promote or engage in violence and hate, regardless of ideology,” a Facebook spokeswoman said in a statement. “The process for evaluating potential violators is extensive and it is what led us to our decision to remove these accounts today.”

BREAKING NEWS: Attorney General Bill Barr REFUSES to testify to Democratic-controlled House Judiciary Committee on Thursday
Attorney General William Barr will refuse to attend the House Judiciary Committee Thursday to be questioned on the Mueller report in a dramatic escalation of tensions between the Trump administration and Democrats.
Barr was expected to write a letter Wednesday evening telling committee chairman Jerrold Nadler that he will not attend, objecting to being told that he will be questioned by the committee's Democratic majority's attorneys.
The attorney general will only agree to be questioned by lawmakers, he had already indicated.
Barr now faces a subpoena from Nadler, who has warned he will not hesitate to use the power to compel an appearance by Trump's top legal adviser.

Maryland State Police Prepare For Increased Patrols For Cinco De Mayo
(PIKESVILLE, MD) —As Cinco de Mayo approaches on Sunday, Maryland State Police are urging those who plan to celebrate with alcohol to be safe and smart and avoid impaired and distracted driving.
With an increase in impaired drivers expected throughout the state this weekend, state police will be conducting saturation patrols at each of the 23 barracks focusing on impaired, aggressive and distracted driving. Enforcement this weekend, beginning on Thursday evening and through Sunday will be bolstered by impaired driving saturation patrol funds from the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Office.
Initiatives will include saturation patrols in areas known to have a higher number of DUI crashes or arrests and sobriety checkpoints, which are also conducted in locations where experience indicates they are most appropriate. Additional troopers will be assigned as needed. From May 4-6, 2018, troopers made 119 DUI arrests, 35 criminal arrests and 20 controlled dangerous substance arrests while also issuing 861 speeding citations, 88 seat belt citations and 2,257 citations for other violations.
The State Police Impaired Driving Reduction Effort Team, otherwise known as the SPIDRE team, will also be out in full force this weekend. Since its inception in May 2013 through April 27, 2019, the SPIDRE team has made 2,995 DUI arrests, 138 criminal arrests and 9,109 traffic stops while also issuing 20,240 citations and 4,505 warnings. The goal of the SPIDRE team is to focus on reducing alcohol related crashes in Maryland by targeting areas across the state with high crash rates involving impaired drivers.
Every year more than 160 lives are lost and thousands more are injured in Maryland in crashes involving impaired drivers, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation. Please don’t drink and drive this weekend.

PHILANTHROPIST OFFERS CITY FREE BUILDING TO SAVE DOOMED HUDSON YARDS ARTS CENTER
The owner of a Manhattan arts complex says he’s willing to give away the cultural institution to save it.
William Hillman’s Affirmation Arts, which sits in the path of a planned Hudson Yards park and roadway expansion, faces the wrecking ball, along with nine other nearby properties. He says he’d gladly hand over his building to the city — on the condition it remain intact as a cultural center.
“I would like to give this building to the people of New York City to share with the world,” the artist and philanthropist testified Tuesday at a hearing on plans to condemn his West 37th Street property to make way for the last phase of a park and boulevard north of Hudson Yards.
Hillman would not say how much he expected to get for his renovated, three-story 1920 structure, should the city seize it as planned. But he told THE CITY Thursday donating the building would be “by far the greatest philanthropic gift” of his lifetime.

Subject: General: America’s Power Grid Vulnerable to Electronic Attack
A senior Air Force general is warning that America's electrical power grid is vulnerable to electronic attacks ranging from nuclear-produced electromagnetic pulse, to tactical electronic weapons from China or Russia, to geomagnetic storms—all of which can plunge the nation into darkness.
Air Force Lt. Gen. Steven Kwast, commander of the Air Education and Training Command in San Antonio, Texas, issued the warning in a telephone interview during a conference earlier this week that brought together experts to find ways to protect against what the military is calling the electromagnetic spectrum, or EMS, threat.
"The American people need to understand that we built western civilization on electricity and information," Kwast said. "Whether it's our 4G LTE and our cell phones, or whether it's our energy grid, electricity and information are the magic sauce for economic development, economic growth, and the vibrancy of our economy."
The infrastructure to support electrical power and information transmission were built without consideration of electronic or other types of attacks, he said.
"But we see evidence of China and Russia looking at that as a vulnerability in American society and we have to be mindful of that," the three-star general said.

Chelsea Clinton Making Millions By Hardly Working, New Report Says
Chelsea Clinton once made $600,000 a year to produce a few “feel-good pieces” for NBC News — where she was a “special correspondent.” Somehow, the 39-year-old has amassed a huge fortune and now lives in a $10 million “luxury fortress” in Manhattan.
So the Daily Mail decided to take a look at the former first daughter’s income, and what they found was fascinating.
So the Daily Mail decided to take a look at the former first daughter’s income, and what they found was fascinating.
Chelsea Clinton, 39, took home just over $600,000 last year for her work as director on the boards of IAC and Expedia, according to records obtained by DailyMail.com.More
The IAC board met just six times in 2018, while some members of the Expedia board were only obligated to attend two meetings last year.
Those two companies are both headed up by the family’s good friend Barry Diller, the billionaire businessman and longtime partner of designer Diane von Furstenberg, who is often spotted attending Broadway shows with Chelsea and her parents.
Most Americans Don't Support Voting Rights For Jailed Felons
A resounding majority of Americans don’t support giving prisoners the right to vote in national elections, a poll found.
In the HarrisX survey for The Hill released Thursday, 69% of registered voters said incarcerated felons shouldn’t be allowed to retain their voting rights; 31% favored the idea.
The chief champion of voting access for prisoners has been Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., a front-runner in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary, but that position has come under fire from Republicans and a few Democrats, including another White House contender, Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J.

'Medicare for all' means choice for none
“Medicare for all” is another name for socialized health insurance. The Congressional Budget Office published a paper on the general idea this week, reigniting debates over the costs.
Follow the defenses of “Medicare for all” closely enough, through their twists and turns, and eventually you end up in a dead-end alley from which there is no escape. Democrats’ plans to supposedly open up Medicare to everybody always end up in the same place: They absolutely must bar people from choosing to buy their own insurance instead.
The winding debate goes like this: Conservatives point out that turning the federal government into a massive health insurer for all Americans would increase federal spending by $32 trillion.

Larry C. Johnson: Intel and Law Enforcement Tried to Entrap Trump
The preponderance of evidence makes this very simple–there was a broad, coordinated effort by the Obama Administration, with the help of foreign governments, to target Donald Trump and paint him as a stooge of Russia.
The Mueller Report provides irrefutable evidence that the so-called Russian collusion case against Donald Trump was a deliberate fabrication by intelligence and law enforcement organizations in the United States and the United Kingdom and organizations aligned with the Clinton Campaign.
Breaking news today, courtesy of the New York Times, is that a man with a long history of working with the CIA and a female FBI Informant, traveled to London in September of 2016 and tried unsuccessfully to entrap George Papadopolous. The biggest curiosity is that US intelligence or law enforcement officials fully briefed British intelligence on what they were up to. Quite understandable given what we now know about British spying on the Trump Campaign.

The Wheels Of Real Justice Are In Motion Now: Kunstler Fears The "Desperate Resistance" Next Move...
"Impeachment is too good for him,” Nancy Pelosi declared of the president on Thursday after “his lapdog” - as she styled Attorney General William Barr - refused to be whipped by grandstanding Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee. What did Madam Speaker have in mind then? Dragging Mr. Trump behind a Chevy Tahoe over four miles of broken light bulbs? Staking him onto a nest of fire ants? How about a beheading at the capable hands of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN)?
Mr. Barr’s stolid demeanor during the Wednesday session was a refreshing reminder of what it means to be not insane in the long-running lunatic degeneration of national politics.
Of course, the reason for the continued hysteria among Democrats is that the two-year solemn inquiry by the august former FBI Director, Mr. Mueller, is being revealed daily as a mendacious fraud with criminal overtones running clear through Democratic ranks beyond even the wicked Hillary Clinton to the sainted former president Obama, who may have supervised his party’s collusion with foreign officials to interfere in the 2016 election.

HAMAS FIRES NEARLY 300 ROCKETS FROM GAZA; 6 ISRAELIS WOUNDED, 1 SERIOUSLY
Israel appeared to be on the verge of a prolonged escalation of its conflict with Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad after close to 300 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip towards southern Israeli communities on Saturday, striking several homes and leaving one elderly woman severely wounded by shrapnel.
The attacks occurred in advance of Israel’s Independence Day and 10 days before the Eurovision Song Contest.
Dozens of projectiles were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, according to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit.
While the majority of rockets launched by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad fell in open areas, several hit homes in communities in southern Israel, including in Beersheba, Sderot and Ashkelon.

'BIGGER THAN WATERGATE': Trump Mocks New York Times For 'Finally' Reporting On FBI 'Spying' Into His Campaign
President Trump on Friday dinged The New York Times for "finally" reporting that the FBI sent a "spy" to meet with a member of his 2016 campaign staff to see if the campaign was working with Russia.
"Finally, Mainstream Media is getting involved — too 'hot' to avoid. Pulitzer Prize anyone? The New York Times, on front page (finally), 'Details effort to spy on Trump Campaign.' @foxandfriends This is bigger than WATERGATE, but the reverse!" Trump wrote on Twitter.
Trump's tweet followed the publication on the Times' front page of a story headlined "F.B.I. Sent Investigator Posing as Assistant to Meet With Trump Aide in 2016." The story said in September 2016, the Federal Bureau of Investigation dispatched a woman to meet with then-Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos to gather information on allegations that the Trump campaign was colluding with Russia to alter the outcome of the presidential election.

Barney Frank: Beto O’Rourke ‘May Be Regretting That He’s Straight’
Barney Frank (D., Mass.), the former congressman whose live-in personal aide ran a male escort service out of their Washington, D.C., apartment in the 1980s, recently weighed in on the success of South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, who is vying to become the first openly gay president in history.
In an interview with the Boston Globepublished on Friday, Frank said Buttigieg's sexuality was "an advantage" that has helped him stand out in a crowded Democratic primary field dominated by straight white men. "If he were straight, I don't think he would be doing as well," Frank said.
Frank even suggested that Buttigieg's rivals might be wishing they were gay, because it would allow voters to signal their lack of bigotry by supporting them. "It attracts attention to [Buttigieg] and he gets points for being open and honest and gives people a chance to affirm their lack of prejudice," Frank said. "I think Beto O’Rourke may be regretting that he’s straight."

The Worm Has Turned on the Democrats
The Democrats and their media colluders are belching last gasps of impotent protest as their dreams of interfering with the 2016 presidential election come to a screeching halt.
Through forlorn partisan lenses, they have watched the Mueller report, their joyride vehicle on the glorious highway to impeachment, spring four flat tires, all because of nails they placed on the road themselves.
As we watch the mainstream media grow hysterically strident, and the insolent Senate Democrats lash out at Attorney General William Barr for refusing to validate their malicious witch hunt, we realize we are witnessing their gobsmacked reaction to justice served cold.

Florida Teachers Can Be "Good Guy With A Gun" Under New Bill Allowing Them To Pack Heat
Florida's House of Representatives passed a bill on Wednesday allowing full-time teachers to carry guns in the classroom - expanding on a program launched in the wake of the deadly Parkland high school shooting in February, 2018
The bill, passed by a vote of 65 to 47 after two days of debate in which Republicans thwarted Democratic legislators' attempts to amend, stall or kill the measure. It was approved by Florida's Senate last week by a vote of 22 to 17, and now heads to the desk of Republican Governor Ron DeSantis who is expected to sign it into law, according to Reuters.
Teachers who complete a 144-hour training course as part of the voluntary guardian program will be allowed to carry.

Shocking New Study Finds 137 Million Americans Suffered "Medical Financial Hardship In The Past Year"
The healthcare system in the United States is deeply broken, and it is causing massive financial pain for millions of American families
Previously, I have published articles where I talked about how medical bills are the primary factor in two-thirds of all personal bankruptcies in the United States, and that Americans had to borrow a whopping 88 billion dollars last year to cover medical costs. This is happening even though more than 90 percent of all Americans have some form of health coverage. Thanks to soaring deductibles and health insurance policies that are absolutely riddled with loopholes, more Americans than ever are being wiped out by medical bills. And now a brand new study that was conducted by researchers from the American Cancer Society has discovered that 137.1 million Americans suffered “medical financial hardship in the past year”. And now a brand new study that was conducted by researchers from the American Cancer Society has discovered that 137.1 million Americans suffered “medical financial hardship in the past year”. The following comes directly from the study…
Approximately 137.1 million (95% CI 132.7–141.5) adults reported any medical financial hardship in the past year. Hardship is more common for material, psychological and behavioral domains in adults aged 18–64 years (28.9%, 46.9%, and 21.2%, respectively) than in adults aged ≥ 65 years (15.3%, 28.4%, and 12.7%, respectively; all p < .001). Lower educational attainment and more health conditions were strongly associated with hardship intensity in multivariable analyses in both age groups (p < .001). In the younger group, the uninsured were more likely to report multiple domains of hardship (52.8%), compared to those with some public (26.5%) or private insurance (23.2%) (p < .001). In the older group, individuals with Medicare only were more likely to report hardship in multiple domains (17.1%) compared to those with Medicare and public (12.1%) or Medicare and private coverage (10.1%) (p < .001).

Trump, Putin discuss nukes, Venezuela in ‘long and very good’ talk
President Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin had a “very productive talk” over the phone Friday while discussing nuclear and trade agreements.
The two world leaders also discussed the political chaos unfolding in Venezuela as beleaguered President Nicolas Maduro is being pressured to cede power, according to the White House.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters the president was “making clear that the United States stand with the people of Venezuela.”
Trump tweeted that among topics discussed was special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on his investigation into Russia.

Pig 'Ebola' Virus Sends Shock Waves Through Global Food Chain
What started with a few dozen dead pigs in northeastern China is sending shock waves through the global food chain.
Last August, a farm with fewer than 400 hogs on the outskirts of Shenyang was found to harbor African swine fever, the first ever occurrence of the contagious viral disease in the country with half the world’s pigs. Forty-seven head had died, triggering emergency measures including mass culling and a blockade to stop the transportation of livestock. Within days, a government notice proclaimed the outbreak “effectively controlled.”
It was too late. By then, the disease had literally gone viral, dispersed across hundreds of miles in sickened animals, contaminated food, and in dirt and dust on truck tires and clothing. Nine months later, the contagion has spread nationwide, crossed borders to Mongolia, Vietnam and Cambodia, and bolstered meat markets globally.
While official estimates count 1 million culled hogs, slaughter data suggest 100 times more will be removed from China’s 440 million-strong swine herd in 2019, the Chinese zodiac’s “year of the pig.” The U.S. Department of Agriculture forecast in April a decline of 134 million head -- equivalent to the entire annual output of American pigs -- and the worst slump since the department began counting China’s pigs in the mid 1970s.

DOJ shoots back at Pelosi’s claim that Barr ‘lied to Congress’
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Thursday that Attorney General William Barr lied to Congress, something she noted would be a “crime.” The Department of Justice has called these accusations “baseless,” “reckless,” “irresponsible,” and “false.”
On Wednesday, Barr testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee. He had been asked to answer questions related to special counsel Robert Mueller’s final report on the investigation into whether or not the Trump campaign colluded with Russia in the months leading up to the 2016 presidential election.
During the hearing, Senate Democrats accused Barr of covering for President Donald Trump instead of respecting the integrity of the investigation. Barr told the committee that Trump “fully cooperated with Mueller’s investigation,” a point Democrats contested since Trump himself refused to be interviewed by Mueller. Also under scrutiny was Barr’s summary of the Mueller report, which Mueller had said in a letter did not adequately reflect his results. The full Mueller report, with redactions, was released more than three weeks after Barr’s summary.

Trump says he will declassify 'everything' about warrants Obama used to spy on his campaign
President Donald Trump claimed on Thursday that it's likely former FBI Director James Comey led an effort to spy on his campaign in 2016.
And he told a Fox News Channel interviewer that he intends to declassify documents related to controversial surveillance warrants 'pretty soon.'
White House officials have vented both publicly and privately for more than a year about warrants the Obama Justice Department obtained from a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court to monitor Carter Page, then a Trump campaign foreign policy adviser.
The president signaled Friday morning that a reckoning was near.

Florida teens stranded in ocean saved by boat named 'Amen' after desperate prayer for help
Two Florida teens were enjoying senior skip day at the beach when they found themselves stranded in the ocean.
Tyler Smith and Heather Brown, Christ's Church Academy students who've been friends since fourth grade, were swimming off of Vilano Beach, near St. Augustine, on Thursday, April 18, when they realized they might not make it back to shore.
Weak and tired from fighting the waves for two hours and two miles offshore, the 17-year-old soccer players told Fox News they started praying to God and crying out for help.
“I cried out: 'If you really do have a plan for us, like, come on. Just bring something,'” Tyler recalled to FOX 30.

The New Cheney
I can't think of a better illustration of our partisan divide than the reactions to Attorney General William Barr's testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday. Democrats are furious at Barr's defense of his roll-out of the Mueller report and his assertions of executive power. Some Democrats want Barr to resign, others want him to be impeached, and Nancy Pelosi says he's guilty of lying to Congress. Republicans have found a hero.
Barr is the new Dick Cheney: a stocky, bespectacled, confrontational, blunt, intelligent, unapologetically conservative, experienced, and high-powered official who believes in and fights for the office of the president. Just as Democrats loathed Cheney as a bugaboo manipulating President George W. Bush to further the interests of Halliburton, they attack Barr as a dishonest factotum of President Trump's. The qualities that drove Democrats batty over Cheney—his inscrutability, his cleverness, his asperity, and above all his success—make them incensed about Barr. These happen to be qualities Republicans find appealing.

FBI informant report fuels Obama spying claims
The FBI used a female informant to try to pry information from a Trump campaign adviser during the 2016 election season, The New York Times reported Thursday, fueling allegations that the Obama administration spied on a political opponent.
The woman was deployed to meet with George Papadopoulos, a foreign policy adviser to the campaign, at a London bar as part of the FBI’s investigation into suspected coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign, the newspaper reported.
“There is a word for this in the English language: spying,” said Brad Parscale, President Trump’s campaign manager for the upcoming election. “For two years, Democrats and their allies in the media have lied to the American people about the Russia collusion hoax, when all along the real scandal was the Obama administration using the Justice Department to spy on a political adversary’s campaign.”
Mr. Papadopoulos said Thursday that he is not sure the woman, who gave her name as “Azra Turk,” was working for the FBI. He figures she was more likely with the CIA, which he said was probably working with Turkish intelligence.

Leftist students freak out, get arrested by campus cops — after yet another allegedly stolen MAGA hat
It appears another gaggle of left-wing college students have allowed the sight of a "Make America Great Again" hat — the iconic symbol of President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign that's more or less become kryptonite to leftists — get the better of their decision-making skills and emotions.
What happened?
A Texas State University student shot video Wednesday of what he told Campus Reform occurred after another student stole his MAGA hat amid a heated political discussion on campus.
The clip shows one student in a light purple shirt dropping and kicking the student's MAGA hat as campus police confront her.
