Grassley Demands Sit-Down With Mystery FBI Agent To Discuss Flynn "302" Forms

• Last week, an unredacted House Intel Committee report revealed that former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe told Congressional investigators that the FBI had virtually no case against former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn, and "The two people who interviewed [Flynn] didn't think he was lying[.]" 
• "[N]ot [a] great beginning of a false statement case." McCabe told the Committee. 
• The same House Intel report revealed that James Comey contradicted himself in a Fox News interview when he denied telling lawmakers those agents thought Flynn was telling the truth, when in fact he did. 
• There is an unconfirmed rumor that McCabe instructed agents to alter their "302" forms from the Flynn interview, effectively changing their written accounts. 
• Now, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) says Comey also told them the FBI thought Flynn was telling the truth - only to say the opposite on Fox.
• Grassley is now zeroing in on the Flynn interview - and has demanded the "302" forms, as well as a sit-down with Special Agent Joe Pientka - who Grassley revealed as the second FBI agent in the Flynn interview aside from Peter Strzok. 
• Grassley is also demanding a transcript of the reportedly intercepted calls between Flynn and former Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak central to the Flynn case. 

Republican Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa is getting to the bottom of things, and some think he's laying out a path to exonerate former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn - who pleaded guilty of lying to the FBI over his contacts with former Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak.

It has been suggested that the FBI set Flynn up, and his admission of guilt could have been to avoid sure financial ruin trying to fight the Special Counsel. Others say Flynn was protecting his son, Michael Flynn Jr., who served as his father's aide for his consulting company, Flynn Intel Group.

Letter to FBI marks first time a Democrat officially accused Trump’s campaign of colluding with Russians
Then-Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid released a letter in the heat of the 2016 election alleging Trump-Russia collusion even though the CIA director at the time urged him not to, according to a person familiar with their conversation.

Mr. Reid’s Aug. 27 letter to the FBI appears to mark the first time a Democrat officially accused President’ Trump’s campaign of colluding with the Russian government to hack his party’s computers.

The letter has come to represent for conservatives the “deep state” — Obama loyalists leaking unproven allegations to the press against Mr. Trump and his people to ruin the campaign, the transition and the White House.

“The evidence of a direct connection between the Russian government and Donald Trump’s presidential campaign continues to mount,” Mr. Reid wrote to FBI Director James B. Comey.

'Superman' star Margot Kidder dead at 69

Margot Kidder, best known for her role as Lois Lane in the 1978 "Superman" film, has died. She was 69.

An obituary for the actress said she died on Sunday at her home in Livingston, Mont. A cause of death is currently unknown.

Kidder starred opposite Christopher Reeve in "Superman" and three sequels. She continued to act in many movies and TV shows most recently starring in the 2017 film "The Neighborhood." According to IMDB, she has roles in two upcoming films that are in pre-production.

SALISBURY, Md. – The No. 7 Salisbury University men's lacrosse team erased a seven-goal deficit to defeat No. 16 Christopher Newport University in NCAA tournament third-round action on Saturday night. The Sea Gulls used a nine-goal second half to pick up their third win over the Captains this season, 12-11.

The Sea Gulls (18-3) took the lead one time in the contest but it came at the most crucial time in the game as Griffin Moroney, who netted a team-high three goals, gave Salisbury its only lead of the contest at the 7:50 mark, converting on a pass from Josh Melton to give the maroon and gold an 11-10 advantage.

The Captains (15-5) stormed out of the gates, scoring the first three goals in the opening five minutes of the game.

Salisbury (18-3) responded with two goals midway through the first quarter, the first coming on a man-up goal by Corey Gwin off a feed from Melton. Gwin found Emory Wongus just over a minute later to cut the deficit to one. Gwin finished his night with two goals and an assist as he achieved the 100th point of his career.

Indonesia ISIS Family Bombs Churches

An entire family of suicide bombers, including pre-teen girls, attacked three churches in Indonesia on Sunday, killing at least 10 people and wounding dozens more, national police said.

The clan of terrorists is believed to have ties to Jamaah Anshar Daulah (JAD), an extremist group that is affiliated with the Islamic State network in Indonesia. The attackers came from a single family whose head was the leader of a terrorist cell in Surabaya, the port city where the bombings occurred, according to National Police chief Gen. Tito Karnavian.

“We have identified the bombers,” he said Sunday at a press conference,according to the Jakarta Post. “It is highly likely that they shared a familial background.”

The United States is in the "late phases" of finalizing its Israeli-Palestinian peace plan that will be presented to both parties for consideration, according to a senior White House official, who discussed progress on the matter ahead of a massive celebration in Israel to open the new U.S. embassy in Jerusalem.

Festivities surrounding the opening of the new U.S. embassy building in Jerusalem kicked off in "grand fashion" over the weekend and will spill into Monday afternoon when U.S, Israeli, and international diplomats gather to formally open the new embassy building, according to senior administration officials.

The U.S. presidential delegation touched down in Israel Sunday afternoon and quickly entered into a series of celebrations and bilateral meetings with Israeli officials. At a dinner organized by the Friends of Zion Museum, U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and senior presidential adviser Jared Kushner, also the president's son-in-law, were presented awards for their efforts to spearhead the embassy move.

Hillary Clinton has sent $150,000 in leftover funds from her presidential campaign committee to a limited liability company that was established to manage her book and speaking income, filings show.

Clinton registered ZFS Holdings LLC, a Delaware-based LLC, on Feb. 8, 2013, just days after leaving the State Department,records filed with the Delaware Division of Corporations show. Later, in April 2014, paperwork was filed with New York State's Department of State.

ZFS's listed agent on its Delaware forms is the Corporation Trust Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wolters Kluwer, a Netherlands-based global company that provides services to legal, business, tax, accounting, finance, audit, risk, compliance, and healthcare clients.

The agent's address, which is used by more than 285,000 companies, including Trump business entities, is known as an epicenter of U.S. corporate secrecy.

Oklahoma's Republican Governor Mary Fallin vetoed a bill on Friday that would have allowed adults to carry handguns without a permit.

Fallin also signed another bill that permits religious organizations to exclude same sex couples from adoptions, managing to anger both gun and gay rights groups on the same day.

The twin actions announced late Friday were among more than a dozen decisions on legislation taken by the term-limited governor as she clears the decks in her waning months in office.

They also followed a tumultuous session of the Legislature that saw striking teachers march on the Capitol, prompting lawmakers to raise taxes including on the state's powerful oil and gas industry, to fund increases in education spending.

The Congressional Black Caucus PAC (CBC PAC) is spending big on luxurious hotels in multiple cities, tickets for events at sports and entertainment centers, and at wineries and Broadway shows, a review of campaign finance filings show.

The CBC PAC is the fundraising arm of the Congressional Black Caucus and carries a stated mission of increasing "the number of African Americans in the U.S. Congress" and to "support non-Black candidates that champion our interests" while working to promote African American participation in the political process.

The PAC's website says that the group will "continue to grow" and expand their voice in key campaigns throughout the country with the help of its financial backers.

Despite the group's stated intentions, the PAC is spending hundreds of thousands on administration and fundraising while putting far less money toward its stated purposes.

The 'Election Collusion' Was between Our Intelligence Community and Britain

As I will explain, the widespread notion that Russia and Trump colluded to beat Hillary has long been demonstrable bunk. What seems more clear each day is that there was collusion between certain members of the U.S. and British intelligence communities to spy on the Trump campaign. This may explain, in large part, the reluctance of the Department of Justice to reveal what it knows publicly. After all -- with rare exceptions -- the two countries’ intelligence services have long had important information gathering and sharing agreements, and exposure of this may harm the traditional reciprocal relationship.

Whether the British counterparts were hoodwinked into playing this role is still unclear. Maybe they were. On the other hand, with most of what they know about the U.S. electorate doubtless coming from the NYT and even more left-wing British media, they may well have done this willingly, believing the globalist Hillary had a sure shot at the presidency and this was a means of cementing a relationship with her.

New Jersey residents may have been exposed to measles after two people with the virus visited several places, including Newark Liberty International Airport, in recent weeks, the state’s health officials announced.

New Jersey Department of Health said a person with measles stopped in New Jersey on April 30 while on a tour bus traveling from Niagara Falls, New York to Washington, D.C. In the second unrelated incident, a resident in Bergen County contracted measles after coming in contact with an international traveler who had the contagious virus between late April and early May.

The two infected people passed through several places, including Towne Centre at Englewood apartments from April 24 to May 2, Renaissance Office Center in Englewood on April 30, Columbia Travel Center on April 30 and Newark airport on May 2, NJ.com reported.

Trump winning 'bigly' but media attacks continue

This past week President Trump had another bout of winning, though you’d never know it from most media coverage.

CNN Chief White House Correspondent Jim Acosta synopsized it nicely, and was much mocked by conservatives on Twitter: “Obama policies dumped by Trump: Iran deal, Paris Climate Agreement, Trans-Pacific Trade Deal, DACA, ObamaCare Individual Mandate.”

Twitter’s right side piled on, with The Federalist Co-Founder Sean Davis noting how Acosta was “running campaign ads for Trump.” Acosta apparently failed to understand how getting rid of Obama programs was a feature, not a bug, of the Trump presidency.

President Trump added to his list of achievements with a huge win in North Korea, another against ISIS and a particularly enjoyable one as a top opponent’s entire career melted down in the space of minutes.

The president’s latest winning streak was kicked into high gear at the intersection of two stories the media covered poorly this past week. They involved two of the three members of President George W. Bush’s famous “Axis of Evil” – Iran and North Korea.

Without Firing a Shot — Review: 'Three Days in Moscow: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of the Soviet Empire' by Bret Baier and Catherine Whitney

When liberal historian John Patrick Diggins informed Arthur Schlesinger Jr. that he was writing a biography of Ronald Reagan, Schlesinger urged him not to make Reagan "look too good."

But unlike Schlesinger, who made "his" president—John F. Kennedy—look too good (i.e., an Arthurian king who would have ended the Cold War had he dodged Lee Harvey Oswald's bullets), Diggins was an old-fashioned historian, the kind who followed the evidence no matter where it led.

And the evidence—Reagan's diaries, declassified papers, and above all the speeches—led Diggins into declaring Reagan one of the three greatest presidents, alongside Abraham Lincoln and Franklin D. Roosevelt.

But Diggins was an apostate among liberals who have then and now sought to deny Reagan credit for winning the Cold War. Some have proclaimed Mikhail Gorbachev the true hero who ended the conflict rather than the "lightweight" and "mentally challenged" Reagan. For those who think America did win, they have credited the victory as the result of Harry Truman’s containment policy, the purpose of which was to destroy the faulty Soviet economy by hemming the Russians in.

This week in Australia during an interview with Julia Gillard, Australia’s first female prime minister, 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said there was still “a very large proportion of the population” that she said was uneasy with women in positions of leadership.

Clinton said, “There is still a very large proportion of the population that is uneasy with women in positions of leadership, and so the easiest way to kind of avoid having to look at someone on her merits is to dismiss her on her looks.”

When asked about the “lock her up” chants, Clinton added, “There is this fear, there is this anger, even rage about women seeking power, women exercising power, and people fall back on these attacks, like you’re a witch or you should go to prison, or whatever it is. And the enthusiasm with which that is generated speaks to a much deeper sense of alienation that people still have toward woman leaders. It’s not a majority, thank goodness, it’s not, but it’s a very vocal minority, at least in my country. And sometimes these tropes are very much part of the press coverage.”

Minnesota Democrats wage war on God, faith and American history

A bill in the Minnesota Senate that would allow schools in the state to voluntarily display the national motto “In God We Trust” has state Democrats spiraling into fits of outrage, because God offends them.

By waging war on God, they are showing contempt for people of faith and disregard for the history of our country.

On the floor of the Minnesota Senate, Democratic Sen. Scott Dibble suggested using “Allah” in place of “God” – as in “In Allah We Trust.” Dibble wondered how the bill’s sponsor, Republican Sen. Dan Hall, would react, since the words “God” and “Allah” (an Arabic word) mean the same thing.

Here’s a little history lesson for Dibble.

“In God We Trust” was recognized as our nation’s motto more than 200 years ago when Francis Scott Key penned it in “The Star Spangled Banner” as he watched the Battle of Fort McHenry during the War of 1812. He wrote: “And this be our motto – ‘In God is our trust.’

So this motto goes almost as far back as the founding of our country. It’s very much ingrained in our heritage.

Federal Judge Releases Illegal Alien Who Rammed Car into Daycare Center

A federal judge released an illegal alien who has now disappeared after being taken into custody for allegedly ramming a car into a daycare center, causing serious injuries to a teacher.

Juana Loa-Nunez was arrested on May 7 after she allegedly crashed her car into an Indiana church daycare center and then fled the scene, WTHR Channel 13 reported.

One teacher, Jessica Parks, was hit during the accident and suffered a broken leg and other injuries.

Loa-Nunez is reportedly an illegal alien who has no driver’s license. She was arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, but by Friday, authorities released the suspect from jail without notifying U.S. immigration officials. The suspect has since disappeared, authorities said.

But Marion County sheriffs deflected the criticism by saying a federal judge ordered them to release the suspect.

“Judge Sarah Evans Barker has ruled that ICE must provide a criminal warrant or a criminal probable cause affidavit for the County to detain undocumented individuals. ICE failed to provide such documentation, despite receiving timely notice. Thus, ICE allowed this individual to go free,” the sheriff’s department retorted in a release of its own.

The sheriff’s department added that immigration is a federal matter and not an Indiana law enforcement issue and noted that if ICE has a problem, it should take it up with Judge Barker, a Ronald Reagan appointee who has been on the bench since 1984.

The man’s arsenal included a high-powered rifle, a tactical shotgun, and an assortment of other guns, military style knives, and body armor, along with fully-loaded magazines and 800 rounds of ammunition.

The left-wing billionaire's NextGen America released an ad called "Mothers Day," depicting a woman talking about her troubled son's actions growing up, such as stealing from poorer kids and screaming anti-abortion messages at women. In but a few moments ancient prophecies will be fulfilled and veritable truths realized when the United States moves its embassy to Israel’s capital, Jerusalem. It will also be a day when we will remember the strength and courage of the man who made it happen: President Donald Trump.

The U.S. embassy will move to Jerusalem, May, 14, 2018, 70 years after the founding of Israel, resurrected as the Jewish state, in May, 1948. Seventy years is a completed life time, as the Psalmist states: "The years of our life are seventy years". Seventy years in Jewish outlook is an historical time unit, representing a significant chapter in human history. Seventy years after the first Temple was burned by the Babylonian Nebuchadnezzar and the Jews were driven into Exile, the exile ended and many returned to Israel and rebuilt Jerusalem. Seventy years signifies completion and full circle.

The Muslims, through sword and blood, confiscated Jerusalem’s holy mount by erecting a mosque where the Temple once stood. They did so, as they have throughout centuries of armed invasions, to make a monument to their conquest of the land and to erase its previous, legitimate history..

How do civil wars happen?

Two or more sides disagree on who runs the country. And they can’t settle the question through elections because they don’t even agree that elections are how you decide who’s in charge.

That’s the basic issue here. Who decides who runs the country? 

When you disagree with, or even hate each other but accept the election results, you have a country. When you stop accepting election results, you have a countdown to a civil war.

The Mueller investigation is about removing President Trump from office and overturning the results of an election. We all know that. But it’s not the first time they’ve done this. The first time a Republican president was elected this century, they said he didn’t really win. The Supreme Court gave him the election. There’s a pattern here.

What do sure odds of the Democrats rejecting the next Republican president really mean? It means they don’t accept the results of any election that they don’t win. It means they don’t believe that transfers of power in this country are determined by elections. That’s a civil war.

There’s no shooting. At least not unless you count the attempt to kill a bunch of Republicans at a charity baseball game practice. But the Democrats have rejected our system of government.

This isn’t dissent. It’s not disagreement. You can hate the other party. You can think they’re the worst thing that ever happened to the country. But then you work harder to win the next election. 

When you consistently reject the results of elections that you don’t win, what you want is a dictatorship. Your very own dictatorship.
The only legitimate exercise of power in this country, according to Democrats, is their own. Whenever Republicans exercise power, it’s inherently illegitimate. The Democrats lost Congress They lost the White House. So what did they do? They began trying to run the country through Federal judges and bureaucrats. Every time that a Federal judge issues an order saying that the President of the United States can’t scratch his own back without his say so, that’s the civil war.

Our system of government is based on the constitution, but that’s not the system that runs this country. The Democrat's system is that any part of government that it runs gets total and unlimited power over the country.

If the Democrats are in the White House, then the president can do anything. And I mean anything. He can have his own amnesty for illegal aliens. He can fine you for not having health insurance His power is unlimited. He’s a dictator. (This was a passed law.)
But when Republicans get into the White House, suddenly the President can’t do anything. He isn’t even allowed to undo the illegal alien amnesty that his predecessor illegally invented. A Democrat in the White House has “discretion” to completely decide every aspect of immigration policy. A Republican doesn’t even have the “discretion” to reverse him. That’s how the game is played. That’s how our country is run. Sad but true, although the left hasn’t yet won that particular fight.

When a Democrat is in the White House, states aren’t even allowed to enforce immigration law. But when a Republican is in the White House, states can create their own immigration laws. Under Obama, a state wasn’t allowed to go to the bathroom without asking permission. But under Trump, Jerry Brown can go around saying that California is an independent republic and sign treaties with other countries. (Have not heard the treaties, but may be true.)
The Constitution has something to say about that.

Whether it’s Federal or State, Executive, Legislative or Judiciary, the left moves power around to run the country. If it controls an institution, then that institution is suddenly the supreme power in the land. This is a moving dictatorship.

Donald Trump has caused the Shadow Government to come out of hiding: Professional government is a guild. Like medieval guilds. You can’t serve in if you’re not a member. If you haven’t been indoctrinated into its arcane rituals. If you aren’t in the club. Trump isn’t in the club and he brought in a bunch of people who aren’t in the club with him.

Now we’re seeing what the pros do when amateurs try to walk in on them. They spy on them, they investigate them and they send them to jail. They use the tools of power to bring them down.

That’s not a free country.

It’s not a free country when FBI agents who support Hillary take out an “insurance policy” against Trump winning the election. It’s not a free country when Obama officials engage in massive unmasking of the opposition. It’s not a free country when the media responds to the other guy winning by trying to ban the conservative media that supported him from social media. It’s not a free country when all of the above collude together to overturn an election because the guy who elected wasn’t supposed to win.

Have no doubt, we’re in a civil war between conservative volunteer government and a leftist Democrat professional government.

Three Contractors Bid On Repair To The White House Fence.... One is from Chicago, another is from Kentucky, and the third is from New Orleans.

All three go with a White House official to examine the fence.

The New Orleans contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well," he says, "I figure the job will run about $9,000. That's $4,000 for materials, $4,000 for my crew and $1,000 profit for me."

The Kentucky contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $7,000. That's $3,000 for materials, $3,000 for my crew and $1,000 profit for me."

The Chicago contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, "$27,000."

The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys!! How did you come up with such a high figure???

"The Chicago contractor whispers back, "$10,000 for me, $10,000 for you, and we hire the guy from Kentucky to fix the fence"
"Done!" replies the government official.

And that, my friends, is how the Government Stimulus plan works...

Maryland governor plans to sign free community college bill into law

Maryland is set to become the latest state to cover the cost of community college tuition for its residents, as Gov. Larry Hogan (R) plans to sign into law a measure ushering in the program, his office said Friday.

“Since taking office, the Hogan administration has been committed to increasing access to quality, affordable higher education for Maryland students,” said Amelia Chasse, Hogan’s spokeswoman. “The governor remains committed to helping more students achieve their educational goals and looks forward to signing this bill into law.”

The legislation, approved by the General Assembly in the final minutes of the 2018 session, provides scholarships of up to $5,000 to students whose families earn less than $125,000 a year and adults earning less than $90,000. It is a last-dollar program, meaning the state would cover tuition left over after factoring in other scholarships and grants.

To qualify, prospective students must enroll in one of Maryland’s 16 community colleges within two years of finishing high school or obtaining a GED. Students must take 12 credit hours of courses and have a high school grade point average of 2.3. Lawmakers estimate the program will cost $15 million a year. It will go into effect in 2019.

How Municipalities Are Destroying Local Businesses

Do you remember back in the day when locals used to come together for their local communities like "Save Seven For September"? Many of you won't recall that name but it ultimately became Sunfest, taken over by Ocean City. 

Back in the day events like Save Seven For September was all about local volunteers representing a multitude of non profits like Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and numerous Volunteer Fire Departments and Ladies Auxiliaries. Oyster Fritters were battered by hand and were by far the most delicious. Women would do a tremendous amount of cooking and baking at home and bring their good out for sale to donate their revenue to all these organizations.

Everyone came together to support other local businesses and local businesses did everything they could to support this event.

When the event started growing and the word started spreading about how great the food was and how well attended it became, then came all the regulations and ultimately Ocean City started "sanctioning" this event, which ultimately became Sunfest. 

"Bike Week" was yet another event that started out as an incredible success until Ocean City decided they had to have their hands in the event but we can't ignore the Classic Car events and even the H20 event. The problem with ALL of these events Ocean City now has their hands in is the fact that the municipality has far more money to bring in national acts that compete with the likes of Seacrets and so many other local venues. 

Oh, it may sound like I'm complaining but I'm really not. I'm simply trying to educate everyone on what the future holds. You see, Bike Week, (more than likely) will end, (especially Spring Bike Week) because Ocean City and the people who head up this event refuse to properly organize the event and it has basically petered out. They have also raised their prices to vendors so high that it has driven vendors and customers away. It would be one thing if they had a ton of organized activities like bike rallies and so forth but that isn't in their interest at all. They have milked every single penny they could out of these events to a point attendance continues to drop and could disappear forever. 

It's a shame municipalities can't retain quality professionals to organize and manage these events properly. It reminds me a LOT about Jake Day's Folk Festival. You bring in a bunch of kids with absolutely no experience and the event will be very short lived. All one has to do is look at what Ocean City has done to destroy well intended events by "PAYING IT FORWARD" back to our very own local economy. 

The Jake Day's and Rick Mehan's of the Shore would rather watch such events disappear and or run at the cost of us local taxpayers while destroying Local Businesses who pay a tremendous amount of taxes just to stay alive. 

I actually watched some local West Ocean City businesses close their doors by 11 PM this past Friday and Saturday night. We were fortunate enough to enjoy a great weekend but we cannot ignore what Ocean City is doing to hurt these businesses. To watch the Town of Ocean City rake in such profits at the expense of VOLUNTEERS and watch the scraps leave our communities only to head back to other states, (vendors) is just shameful. 

I'll ask, when is the last time you heard funds, (profits) going to Little League, Volunteer Fire Departments on the Shore and so many other non profits from the multitude of events originally created by local businesses or organizations? Nope, the profits go right into the general fund of these municipalities so they can bring in even larger entertainers next year. In the mean time us small businesses will continue to try to stay alive and pay these taxes to keep these amateurs off our backs. 

Maybe the business owners and volunteers need to come together and exclude municipalities from competing with us with taxpayer money. 

Wicomico County woman caught trying to bring a gun through Salisbury Airport checkpoint

Woman was escorting her child to the flight

SALISBURY, MD. – Transportation Security Administration officers at Salisbury Regional Airport stopped a Wicomico County. Maryland, woman with a loaded handgun as she was escorting her child through the airport’s checkpoint.

The Salisbury, Maryland, resident was not ticketed to fly, rather she requested that the airline provide her with a “gate pass” for the purpose of escorting her child to the gate for a flight. The woman was found to be in possession of a .38 caliber handgun loaded with six bullets, including one in the chamber. It was detected when the woman’s bag entered the TSA checkpoint x-ray machine, where the gun was spotted by a TSA officer who was staffing the x-ray monitor.

It was the first firearm detected at the airport this year. One firearm was detected at the airport in 2017.

TSA officers notified the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department, which responded to the checkpoint and detained her for questioning.

As a reminder, individuals who bring firearms to the checkpoint are subject to possible criminal charges from law enforcement. Even travelers with firearm permits are not allowed to bring guns onto airplanes. In addition, TSA has the authority to assess civil penalties of up to $13,000 for weapons violations. At the recent Wicomico County Council public hearing on the FY 2019 county budget, the council’s meeting room was standing room only for discussion on the Board of Education’s budget for the coming fiscal year.

A cross-section of business lead­ers, organization leaders and par­ents testified before the County Council, and listed abundant con­cerns.

Among those concerns ex­pressed were investing in a univer­sal Pre-K Program for the county schools, the state’s Maintenance of Effort funding measurements, school staffing and the future of the system — all as detailed in “Imagine 2022,” the outstanding blueprint created by schools Su­perintendent Dr. Donna Hanlin.

The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce is joining with partners including the Greater Salisbury Committee, United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore, the Com­munity Foundation of the Eastern Shore and countless other individ­uals to implore our elected leader­ship to make bold decisions for our county as we move forward.

Terms such as “funding” and “spending” are out of touch with the reality of what public edu­cation demands in 2018. Invest­ment in public education — with a plan to measure that return on investment in human capital and economic impact — are the new norms.

Solid and sustained investment brings measured results in public education.

When Wicomico County allo­cates the “obligatory” state-man­dated of Maintenance of Effort figure, it will receive no a badge of honor — the county is merely following an arcane practice.

The business community under­stands that those who are pro-in­vestment in our schools are also pro-business.

These solid results, in commu­nities that invest in their public schools, include:

•Attracting the best and bright­est educators for our children.

•Securing educators who put down roots and stay in that juris­diction.

•Seeing graduation rates rise, achievement gaps narrow, test scores markedly improve and the school system rises in its statewide ranking.

Having these things happen would be very attractive to busi­nesses currently here, those want­ing to expand and businesses con­sidering Wicomico County as a place to locate their enterprise.

Before moving into a new terri­tory, businesses look hard at the quality of a jurisdiction’s public education system. They make busi­ness decisions based on a jurisdic­tion’s commitment to investing in a high-performing public school system.

Public education is the No. 1 driver of the economy in our coun­ty, city and state. Wicomico’s busi­ness and organizational commu­nity will no longer sit idly by and tolerate the continued commit­ment to obligatory funding.

We will demand our elected lead­ership make budget decisions that result in education investment.

We owe this to our children, families and our community.

A Wicomico County Man Is Wounded After Charging At Police With A Knife Early This Morning

(SALISBURY, MD) – A Wicomico County man was wounded this morning after charging at police with a knife early this morning.

The Wicomico County man is identified as Justin Marshall, 38, of the 200 block of Hall Drive in Salisbury. He is undergoing treatment for gunshot wounds at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Marshall will remain under police guard at the hospital. Criminal charges against him are pending.

At about 1:15 a.m. this morning, troopers from the Salisbury Barrack were dispatched for a welfare check to the 200 block of Hall Drive in Salisbury. Marshall’s mother, who lives at the residence, requested police assistance to help transport her son to the hospital. She told police that when she attempted to transport her son to the hospital earlier, he jumped out of the vehicle and ran away, eventually returning to their residence on Hall Drive.

When troopers arrived to the scene, Marshall had fled the residence. The troopers patrolled the area to look for Marshall, but were unable to locate him. Troopers advised Marshall’s mother to call police when he returned.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m. this morning, Marshall returned to the home. About five minutes later, troopers arrived back on the scene and encountered Marshall in the front yard with a knife. Without warning, Marshall charged the troopers while making verbal threats with an upraised knife in his hand.

The troopers gave several verbal commands for Marshall to drop the knife. Marshall continued to charge at them.

In fear for their lives, both troopers discharged their department-issued .40 caliber Glock handguns. Both troopers immediately rendered aid and called for emergency medical service personnel. There were no other injuries reported at the scene.

Maryland State Police Homicide Unit and Internal Affairs Unit investigators are conducting an investigation into the police involved shooting. Police are also consulting with the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office.

State troopers from the Salisbury Barrack and investigators from the Criminal Enforcement Division Lower Shore Region responded to the scene. Crime scene technicians responded to process the scene for evidence. Deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist.

Joe, just confirmed with Maryland DBM, that retirees over 65 will lose their drug insurance coverage through the state as of 12/31/18. They will have to pay more for Medicare part D coverage. No explanation of how or when this was passed or approved. They expect retirees to live on less than 2% cost of living increases while costs keep going up.

But a year since former President Barack Obama commuted Manning's 35-year sentence, America's most famous convicted leaker isn't taking an extended vacation.

Far from it: The Oklahoma native has decided to make an unlikely bid for the U.S. Senate in her adopted state of Maryland.

Manning, 30, filed to run in January and has been registered to vote in Maryland since August. She lives in North Bethesda, not far from where she stayed with an aunt while awaiting trial.

Elderly Salisbury Maryland Couple Evicted From Their Rental Home

My neighbor just came home for lunch and knocked on my door asking me to watch his stuff. They are an elderly couple and being evicted. It sounds like they have been struggling and late on the rent, but have payment now and the rental company said there is nothing they can do. He is obviously choked up and asked if I knew what they could do. I said I have no idea other than maybe the Red Cross. The crew must have gone to lunch and are back now so he left? Does anyone know what resources are available to help someone get back in their home and stop the eviction process? They are putting the furniture on the lawn and all the smaller items are going in 55 gal. garbage bags. It breaks my heart to see this happen to anyone, especially an older couple.

UPDATE: Larry W. Dodd The good news is my neighbors were able to move back in and all their belongings are back in the house. Thank you to everyone that reached out to offer assistance and advice. He broke down and said it makes him feel good that there are still people out there that really care. Thank you again.

COUNTY EXECUTIVE ANNOUNCES NO TAX SALE THIS YEAR

Salisbury, MD Executive Bob Culver is continuing his practice in helping the citizens by foregoing a property tax sale this year. He believes this provides help to the citizens who are struggling to pay their tax bills. This year will be the second occasion during his term that he has chosen to offer this opportunity.

State law does not require a sale each year. Section 14-808 of the Tax Property Article mandates a tax sale no later than 2 years from the date taxes are in arrears.

"Not holding a tax sale this year does not mean the taxes owed are waived," said Culver. "Tax sales are more expensive for the property owners with the costs that accrue after the property is purchased. By working with the taxpayers, we are hoping more will find a way to pay the taxes by making payments throughout the year.

Properties not sold at the 2017 tax sale are available to be bought through the Finance Department presently.

Retired general: Torture worked on John McCain, that's why they call him 'Songbird John'

Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney on Thursday referred to Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., as "Songbird John" and said torture worked on the former POW.

McInerney, during an interview on Fox Business Network, was slamming McCain's refusal to support CIA director nominee Gina Haspel over her past work at the agency involving enhanced interrogation techniques that are considered torture.

"The fact is, is John McCain — it worked on John. That's why they call him 'Songbird John,'" McInerney said.

Michelle Obama Says She Won't Run For President In 2020

Despite the fact that many polls show her at or near the top of potential Democratic contenders in 2020 (polling even higher than Vice President Joe Biden)...

...former First Lady Michelle Obama again denied that she has ambitions to seek her husband's former office on Saturday during a speech at the United States of Women Summit. In response to a question form the audience, Obama said she isn't interested in running for office, adding that "it doesn't matter who runs" for the presidency until the US becomes unified.

Obama called the speculation about the Democrats' 2020 candidate "a distraction."

"Well, that's a whole other story because, that's not the answer either. And when I hear people say, 'you run,' it's part of the problem. We still didn't get 'yes we can' right," she said, referencing her husband's 2008 presidential campaign slogan. "It's not 'yes you can,' it's 'yes we can.' And until we get that right, it doesn't matter who runs."

She also correctly pointed out that voters across America - especially people of color - put so much hope in Barack Obama...but he didn't end racism.

"Change starts close to home. So looking for the next person to run … I don't mean to cut that off, but that's been our distraction," she said. "We're going to wait for the next person to save us. We thought it was going to be Barack Obama, but he didn't end racism."

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I’ve read the articles you shared about the Boy Scouts and I was somewhat surprised by the comments from your readers. There appears to be a sense that the move by the Boy Scouts to include girls is in some way watering down the program. This could not be further from the truth.

Boy Scouts have included girls since 1971 through the Explorer program. Since then, girls participate in Venturing, Sea Scouts, and STEM Scouts. The current move will make available the BSA’s character and leadership building experiences to more young people, and allow parents to choose what scouting program best suits their family.

Over the last few years, there have been several surveys, studies, and discussions about this change. The BSA determined that there is a strong demand from parents and girls to participate in the same program that their brothers do. Also, as families face less free time, quality time with children becomes a precious thing. Many families, when faced with the prospect of one child participating in Cub Scouts, and one in Girl Scouts, will choose to do neither.

Cub Scout Packs and Boy Scout Troops are “chartered” by non-profit organizations. Because the BSA wants to provide an experience that works well for all families, there will be several models that Cub Scout Packs can follow. Chartering organizations can choose to have an all boy pack, a family pack, or an all girl pack. For family packs, boys and girls will be in separate dens and each girls den will have a registered and trained female leader. The program and activities will be the same for all dens. In Cub Scouts, the majority of current volunteers are moms; and for most packs, any sibling is already welcome to attend campouts and other activities.

Once a child reaches Boy Scout age, there will be separate troops for boys and girls. This will enable girls to do the same work, have the same opportunities to achieve rank, including Eagle, maintain the integrity of the single gender model, while meeting the needs of today’s families.

The decision to welcome girls into expanded programs of the BSA presents opportunities for more families to participate in Scouting. Youth who participate in scouting show strong moral values and positive character attributes, allowing them to embrace new opportunities, overcome obstacles and become better prepared for future success. In my opinion, the more youth who have that opportunity, the better.

Hillary: Michelle Obama ‘So Right’—Voters Don’t Like ‘Professionally Successful’ Women

Hillary Clinton said on Monday in New Zealand that former First Lady Michelle Obama was “so right” over the weekend when she blasted women for not electing Clinton and said female politicians are held to a higher standard than men.

“The more professionally successful we are, the less people like us,” Clinton said. “Historically, people like me when I’m serving a supporting role… But the minute a women, at least in our country, stands up and says ‘I’d like a chance to lead’… everything changes.”

Clinton told the Auckland audience that “a few days ago Michelle Obama pointed out the consequences of holding women to impossibly high standards.”

“I think she’s so right,” Clinton said. “This is something we have to explore, understand and change.”

Over the weekend, Obama also said she hoped women could fail up as much as men after emphasizing that she was “concerned” that more women voters did not vote for Clinton.

“In light of this last election, I’m concerned about us, as women, and what we think about ourselves and about each other,” Obama reportedly said at the United State of Women summit in California. “What is going on in our heads where we let that happen. So I do wonder what are young girls dreaming about, if we’re still there?”

Obama continued, “When the most qualified person running was a woman and look what we did instead, I mean, that says something about where we are, if we as women are still suspicious of one another, if we still have this crazy, crazy bar that we don’t have for men … if we’re not comfortable with the notion that a woman could be our president, compared to what?”

Soros-Financed Group Warns Trump of ‘Consequences’ for Bolting Iran Deal

A George Soros-financed organization that was previously identified by the Obama White House as central in helping to market the Iran nuclear deal to the news media has warned Donald Trump that he will “own the consequences” of bolting the international nuclear accord.

The Ploughshares Fund, with which former secretary of state John Kerry has been closely associated, sent out a tweet on Monday warning Trump about “consequences” “if and when he violates the international agreement.”

Kerry last June keynoted a Ploughshares confab in San Francisco where he staunchly defended the Iran deal. At the event, Kerry also implied that then-National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster was the best bet at keeping the nuclear agreement alive, according to a Ploughshares Fund description of the June 5, 2017 event.

California becomes first state to mandate solar panels on new homes

California has become the first state in the nation to mandate solar panels for all new homes, in a move to cut greenhouse gas emissions that critics say will end up raising home prices in the already expensive market.

In a unanimous 5-0 vote Wednesday, the California Energy Commission approved the policy.

The regulation will require all homes and apartments built after 2020 to have solar panels, adding an average of roughly $10,000 to construction costs for a single-family home. On the flip side, the commission says, the panels could yield much more in energy savings.

Spokeswoman for the Energy Commission Amber Beck told Fox News that under the new standards, new homes would be expected to reduce energy use by more than 50 percent. She argued that the change will lead to savings in the long run.

Scientists confirm short-man syndrome is real

It seems short men really do act more aggressively than their peers to make up for their small stature.

Researchers used a money sharing conundrum, dubbed the Dictator Game, which tests how fairly individuals treat others.

It typically consists of two individuals, with one given a quantity of money which they must offer a portion of to a rival - even if the amount is zero.

They found that smaller men responded more aggressively when competing in the psychological test - so long as there were no repercussions.
