Lead Baltimore police investigator in Freddie Gray case charged with assault

Baltimore police Detective Dawnyell Taylor, who became the lead investigator on the Freddie Gray case, has been charged with assault, state court records show.

Taylor, 46, a veteran homicide detective, was charged Friday with two counts of second-degree assault.

A woman identified as Tonia Taylor is listed as the complainant, and the charges were approved by a District Court commissioner. Court records show a warrant was issued, and Dawnyell Taylor was released on her own recognizance.

Baltimore police spokesman T.J. Smith said Sunday that Taylor's police powers have been suspended.

FAKE NEWS on Day One: TIME Reporter’s False Martin Luther King Bust Story

White House press secretary, Sean Spicer, scolded TIME magazine White House pool reporter Zeke Miller on Friday for falsely reporting that the Martin Luther King Jr. bust had been removed from the Oval Office after President Donald Trump moved in.

Miller had initially tweeted Friday that the MLK Jr. bust, which then-President Obama put in the Oval Office after removing a bust of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in 2009, had been removed from the Oval Office.

Realizing his mistake, Miller tweeted a correction and apologized for spreading the false report..

Pelosi says religious Republicans ‘dishonor’ God

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Friday that it is a misconception that Democrats are not “people of faith,” and that Republicans “dishonor the God who made them.”

Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinsk sat down with Mrs. Pelosi for an Inauguration Day interview that addressed the Democratic Party’s recent electoral troubles. Mr. Scarborough asked the Californian how Democrats could “reconnect with middle America,” which prompted her break with “the spirit of the day of unity.”

“Thank you for asking that question,” Mrs. Pelosi said. “[There is a] cultural issue, especially when it comes to rural America — the isolation that some people feel there — plus they don’t think the Democrats are people of faith when the fact is we are.

Mom sues to stop Bible study classes in West Virginia schools

A kindergartner's mother is suing her public school system in West Virginia, asking that it discontinue a 75-year practice of putting kids in Bible classes that violate the U.S. and state constitutions.

The woman, identified as "Jane Doe" in the federal lawsuit backed by the Freedom From Religion Foundation, says her child will be forced either to take these weekly classes at her Mercer County elementary school or face ostracism as one of the few children who don't. Her daughter is called “Jamie” in the suit.

“Jamie will either be forced to attend Bible indoctrination classes against the wishes and conscience of Jane Doe, or Jamie will be the only or one of only a few children who do not participate,” the lawsuit says. “Jamie will therefore be made conspicuous by absence, and essentially be identified as a non-Christian or nonbeliever, subjecting Jamie to the risk of ostracism from peers and even school staff.”

Lower tolls didn't cost Maryland as much as expected, transportation secretary says

The amount of money the state collects at the Bay Bridge fell by more than $28.1 million last year, after Gov. Larry Hogan reduced toll rates.

That's a 35 percent drop. But a 9.4 percent increase in highway traffic helped defray that dip, according to figures released by the Maryland Transportation Authority. Revenue increases at other toll facilities helped keep the overall drop to $5.1 million, or less than 1 percent.

The MdTA said the tolls still exceeded the revenue forecast for 2016. The tolls were raised in the 2012 and 2014 fiscal years to finance construction projects.

Money from tolls supports the transportation authority and its construction projects. Some have expressed concern that the toll reductions would mean less money for infrastructure projects such as the planned replacement of the Harry W. Nice Bridge in Southern Maryland.

The Crazy Left’s 4-Step Strategy To Ensure Trump’s Re-Election In 2020

The first Trump administration has [barely] even begun, and already people are planning to get him re-elected. I am not talking about Republican political strategists dreaming of the campaign ads to run starting in mid-2019. I am talking about seemingly the entire liberal political establishment, which is devoting itself wholesale to ensuring that the 2020 election is another victory for Donald Trump.

This is something of a surprise. After the humiliating defeat of Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, you would imagine liberals would learn to tell the difference between what works and what doesn’t. The paranoia, the sneering condescension, the celebrity-infused elitism, the relentless “othering” of tens upon tens of millions of Americans: this approach was a failure. Clinton lost the most winnable election in several generations.

So you might think that, in the run-up to the 2018 midterms and ultimately the 2020 presidential election, American progressives would try something different—anything different!

You would be wrong. Embarrassed, angry, and confused, the Left is simply doubling down on the behavior and the rhetoric that drove large numbers of Americans to vote for Trump in the first place. If you’re a liberal and you want to greatly increase Trump’s chances for re-election in 2020, here are four easy steps you can take to make that a reality.

1. Deny the Legitimacy of the Election Results..

ESPN Offers Their Social Media Sites as Platform for Leftist Activists

ESPNW, the site which focuses on women’s sports, has apparently also decided to start focusing on women’s political activism.

ESPNW chose Donald Trump’s Inauguration Day to tweet out a call for people participating in Saturday’s Women’s March to share their stories with the “sports” network.

The organizers of the Women’s March are radical leftists who have billed the march as an effort to support every leftist initiative under the sun. Here’s how Women’s March co-chair Carmen Perez describes the purpose of the march:

Many Arrested Inauguration Day Protesters Will Face Felony Rioting Charges

Most of the approximately 230 protesters arrested on Inauguration Day will be charged with felony rioting, federal prosecutors said.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said the offense is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The office said most of those arrested will be released without having to post bail and must return to court in February.

A first group of 10 men appeared in Superior Court just before 3 p.m., and their lawyer entered a not guilty plea on their behalf. A judge released all of them on the condition they not get re-arrested in the District of Columbia.

Fake News: Three Mainstream Media Lies on Trump’s First Day

The mainstream media lost no time in attempting to undermine President Donald Trump, as opposed to actually reporting information.

After eight years of kowtowing to Obama, they have suddenly discovered a civic responsibility to hold the government accountable. But they are focusing on minutiae, and in some cases actually telling lies, both of omission and commission. That risks alienating the public even further — making it harder, actually, for the media to act as watchdogs.

Lie #1: President Trump was focused on the crowd size at the inauguration. He mentioned it in passing in his speech at the CIA, and Press Secretary Sean Spicer took the media to task for trying to downplay attendance figures. But to say — as CNN’s Anderson Cooper did — that crowd size was Trump’s focus on his first day in office is simply absurd. On Cooper’s program Saturday, CNN played a clip of Spicer’s first press conference that only mentioned the crowd size issue — leaving out Spicer’s preceding comments taking a journalist to task for reporting, falsely, that Trump had a bust of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. removed from the Oval Office. The crowd issue was secondary — but CNN chose to focus on it because it was less of a slam-dunk against the media than the bust. Whatever the numbers on Inauguration Day, Spicer’s point was that the media were more interesting in undermining Trump, and promoting anti-Trump protests, than in covering the actual news of the day.

NPS: Cleanup ‘going well’ after inauguration, Women’s March

WASHINGTON — The cleanup continues on the National Mall following the inauguration Friday and the Women’s March on Washington Saturday.

The National Park Service has been working to get the area back to its original condition, removing trash, taking down the fencing and pulling up the decking for the recent activities.

“We’ve had our maintenance team out there since last night when they already did a pass,” National Park Service spokeswoman Emily Linroth said Saturday. “Today, they are really going through with a fine tooth comb and picking up what’s left. They do this every July Fourth, so they are pros at it.”

This time around, officials say, visitors were tidier than prior years. Linroth says so far, the cleanup is going well.

“Fortunately, a lot of people, even though, the trash cans were full, have stacked the trash neatly as close to the trash cans as they could get them, so that is making our job easier,” Linroth said.

It has been a really bad week for journalism

It has been a particularly embarrassing week for the press, and it's only Saturday.

For an industry that's as disliked and distrusted as Congress, there's a lot of work that media need to do to win back viewers' trust. There's no room for error, especially now that there's a subgenre of "news" that has zero basis in fact, and is created from thin air for the sole purpose of generating cash.

But learning to be more careful and even-handed is apparently difficult for some in media, and this week was especially rough for newsrooms that are already struggling to regain credibility.

In no particular order, here are some of the most embarrassing media moments from this week:

Gov. Larry Hogan seeks to eliminate gerrymandering

Hogan introduces Redistricting Reform Act legislation

In many parts of Maryland, people living next door to one another have different members of Congress.

Gov. Larry Hogan wants to eliminate gerrymandering, which would make more districts politically competitive.

During the campaign, President-elect Donald Trump claimed that a lot of things were rigged in politics.

"We have a rigged system, folks," Trump told supporters.

Hogan said he wants to fix one aspect of it.

"We've been singled out for having some of the worst gerrymandered districts in the United States of America," Hogan said.

The map of Maryland's congressional districts, drawn by Democrats in 2011, all but guarantees that Democrats will win seven of eight House seats. A judge once called oddly shaped District 3 a broken-winged pterodactyl.

Hogan wants lawmakers to pass the Redistricting Reform Act.

"This legislation will provide for a nonpartisan, redistricting commission and create a fair, nonpartisan, open and transparent redistricting process," Hogan said.

"If we don't fix gerrymandering, we're not going to restore the faith we have in our democracy," said Jennifer Bevan-Dangel, with the ethics watchdog Common Cause.

Bevan-Dangel said gerrymandering harms moderate politicians.

Volunteer Firehouses Struggle to Find Recruits

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Everybody in this fire station was sleeping one recent morning when the alarms started blaring. Six firefighters hopped out of their bunks and pulled their gear over their pajamas. The sun was still coming up when they reached a house where smoke was rising from the basement.

Afterward, back in their pajamas, the young men gathered in the station’s control room. The chief’s son wrote up the report: furnace malfunction in the basement, no injuries, no damage. Then the bantering began — about girlfriends, the holidays and work.

This all-volunteer fire station and the two others in Shippensburg, a factory and university town of about 5,500 people in a central Pennsylvania valley, are vestiges of the past. Firefighters sit around on weekdays playing rummy, and people gather for bingo Friday nights. Yet, the stations are much quieter than they were decades ago, when they felt like the center of the town. And as the community’s interests have shifted from the fire stations, the number of volunteers has fallen.

Rep. Brown paying down state loan with unusual method

Rep. Anthony G. Brown is slowly making progress paying back the $500,000 he borrowed from a union in the waning weeks of his unsuccessful 2014 run for governor — but he is doing so in an unexpected way.

Brown, who sailed to victory in the heavily Democratic 4th Congressional District last fall, returned $160,000 of the loan from the Laborers Political Education Fund in 2016, state campaign finance reports filed last week show.

At the same time, Brown was being repaid money he had lent his campaign for Congress.

A review of state and federal campaign finance reports by The Baltimore Sun indicates that Brown is paying off the state debt to the union at the same time he is being paid back by his federal congressional account — often in identical sums of money.

Road hazzard on bypass

On my way to work this morning at aprox. 6:45, I was behind a Pepsi truck on the bypass. Right as we moved to the right hand lane to connect with 50 East, one of the drivers hand trucks came off from the back and bounced around on the road. It landed on the far right and not out in the middle. It is right at the beginning of the off ramp where the yield section begins on the bypass. If someone were to go too far right, it could cause a serious accident. Please warn any readers if you can.

Should Social Media Be Banned in Prison?

State prison inmates plan a work strike on Saturday in conjunction with a march in Washington to protest corporate food giant Aramark, which provides meals at more than 500 correctional facilities in the country. Their means of organizing: social media.

Planning for Saturday’s protest duplicates how inmates in 24 states used Facebook,Twitter and YouTube in September to stage a work strike on the 45th anniversary of the Attica prison uprising to protest prison conditions, which they called “modern-day slavery.”

“We connected from our social media platforms,” Bennu Hannibal, an inmate serving a life sentence for murder in Alabama, told Vice News, using a smuggled cellphone to conduct the interview. “All those platforms allowed us to connect with different people and different organizers from around the world.”

In most states, prison officials want to prevent inmates from having easy access to the outside world via social media — and not just to avert prison strikes. They fear prisoners could use social media to stalk a former victim, run crime rings, threaten a witness, arrange contraband drops or find out personal information about prison guards and officials.

Seattle Area Moves Closer to Legalized Heroin Shooting Galleries

King County, Washington, could soon be home to the country’s first legal heroin shooting galleries.

According to the Seattle Times, the health board there has unanimously given preliminary approval for at least two heroin injection sites in the county, which is home to 2 million people and includes the city of Seattle. The mayor and the county executive will now consider the issue.

The injection sites would allow opioid users to take their drugs under medical supervision and without fear of arrest. Though such operations exist in 27 cities around the world, there are none in the United States where there were an estimated million heroin users in 2014.

Proponents of the injection sites argue that addicts will use heroin regardless of its legality and that opening a safe place to do drugs can drive down crime in urban areas, prevent fatal overdoses and help guide users toward drug treatment and other health care.

One Big, Fat, Ugly Bubble

The establishment is setting up Donald Trump.

The mainstream media hates him. Hollywood hates him. The “Intellectual Yet Idiot” academia class hates him.

The CIA hates him. So does the rest of the Deep State, or the permanently entrenched “national security” bureaucracy.

They did everything possible to stop Trump from taking office. None of it worked. They fired all of their bullets, but he still wouldn’t go down.

Of course, the Deep State could still try to assassinate Trump. It’s obvious the possibility has crossed his mind. He’s taken the unusual step of supplementing his Secret Service protection with loyal private security.

The Deep State’s next move is to pin the coming stock market collapse on Trump. When people think “Greater Depression,” they’ll think “Donald Trump.”

The economy has been on life support since the 2008 financial crisis. The Fed has pumped it up with unprecedented amounts of “stimulus.” This has created enormous distortions and misallocations of capital that need to be flushed.

Think of the trillions of dollars in money printing programs—euphemistically called quantitative easing (QE) 1, 2, and 3.

Meanwhile, with zero and even negative interest rates in many countries, rates are the lowest they’ve been in 5,000 years of recorded human history.

This is not hyperbole. We’re really in uncharted territory. (Interest rates were never lower than 6% in ancient Greece, and ranged from 4% to over 12% in ancient Rome.)

Chasity Parker was too scared to testify against her boyfriend in one of two murder cases against him that fell apart.

Then Steven Taquan Williams murdered her.

Williams, 24, of the 1000 block of Norchester Ave., didn’t beat that charge. He was sentenced Friday to 50 years in prison for gunning down Parker, 21, and stealing the gun he used to kill her.

He shot her at least six times on July 28, 2015, as she hid in a linen closet in the 3300 block of Kimball Terrace. She’d recently moved to her great-grandmother’s apartment to help take care of her.

Williams pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and three gun charges in September. In a separate case, he pleaded guilty to robbery and a gun charge. In exchange, prosecutor Charlotte Purkey agreed to cap his sentence at 50 years.

Gatestone Institute: Trump Fires Up Europe's Anti-Establishment Movement

The populist, anti-establishment parties of Europe are taking inspiration from the Presidency of Donald J Trump in the United States, remarks the Gatestone Institute in a new report.

Inspired by the inauguration of U.S. President Donald J. Trump, the leaders of Europe’s main anti-establishment parties have held a pan-European rally aimed at coordinating a political strategy to mobilize potentially millions of disillusioned voters in upcoming elections in Germany, the Netherlands and France.

Appearing together in public for the first time, Marine Le Pen, leader of the French National Front, Frauke Petry, leader of the Alternative for Germany (AfD), Geert Wilders, leader of the Dutch Party for Freedom (PVV), Matteo Salvini, leader of Italy’s Northern League and Harald Vilimsky of Austria’s Freedom Party gathered on January 21 at a rally in Koblenz, Germany, where they called on European voters to participate in a “patriotic spring” to topple the European Union, reassert national sovereignty and secure national borders.

Found In D.C. This Past Weekend

Does this surprise you?

How Trump made small-town America matter again

The first time Donald J. Trump stepped onstage in Pennsylvania in April 2016 at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, it was clear something very different was going on in this state, with this candidate.

It was not because the rally was massive, or because it was boisterous, or that it was poorly organized, though all those things were true.

Having already attended 18 of his rallies throughout primary states across the country, I found, in fact, that it looked very familiar.

It was different because it was in Pennsylvania.

It was a campaign that was designed to fail from the very beginning.

A Letter To The Editor: Re. 32 Annual Birthday Celebration and Commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

At the MLK Dinner at the Wicomico County Youth and Civic Center last night, January 16, 2017, the person that did the opening prayer for the banquet started ragging on President Elect Donald Trump and made some threatening comments about him. He was also making comments daring trump to cut the budget on different welfare programs. It was ugly and uncomfortable for some people in the audience. I heard people saying they will never attend another NAACP function again, especially the MLK Banquet.

I think the person was a so call preacher by the name of Bishop Anthony Dickerson, New Greater Mt. Olive Full Gospel Baptist Church, Cambridge Maryland. That man is a racist person and he was inciting a riot. That "prayer" was very inappropriate for a publicly funded youth and civic center.

Sheriff Mike Lewis: "Heading Into Harms Way"

OK, I've been receiving multiple messages referencing Sheriff Mike Lewis sending 25 Officers to Washington D.C. for President Trump's inauguration. Many are upset for a couple main reasons. One, who will be protecting Wicomico County and two, who is paying for this.

Look, I have a few thoughts on this matter. One, it's not often in a Police Officers life they get a chance to participate in such a historic event. Since Jake Day and Chief Barbara Duncan claim crime is way down in Salisbury, hey, maybe these Officers aren't necessary anyway.

Here's what does bother me though. When Sheriff Mike Lewis gets on television and puts on the Mike Lewis Show like he did yesterday. Yeah, it does make me kind of throw up in my mouth every so often. Mike said, we are definitely heading into harms way.

REALLY MIKE, well what about those of us regular citizens who will be there. Are WE heading into harms way too? Are YOU trying to scare the public into believing YOU are heading into a WAR ZONE, or as you like to say, "GROUND ZERO".

I just think Mike is a drama queen and loves the spotlight. Learn to be a bit more humble. Learn to keep your mouth shut. Go do what ALL of you were professionally trained/paid to do and keep our new President and his supporters safe. Knowing where Mike stands politically though, there's no better leader I'd like to see in Washington D.C. protecting citizens then Sheriff Mike Lewis.

As for who is paying for this trip, well, if we have a bunch of bank robberies, stabbings, gun shots and drug deals, Wicomico County taxpayers will certainly pay for it. However, as a strong believer in Mayor Jake Day and Police Chief Barbara Duncan, IT'S ALL GOOD, THEY GOT THIS. (sarcasm)

Finally, If nothing happens in D.C., it will be because Sheriff Lewis kept us safe. If something does happen, well, we'll be hearing about it for many weeks to come on WBOC and WMDT. In fact, they're probably preparing a commercial as we speak featuring Sheriff Lewis in D.C. stating WE WERE THERE, blah, blah, blah. Oh crap, did I just destroy their unpredictable and ingenious idea?

Anyhow, Sheriff Lewis, you are the man. You are the best of the best. You are our local hero. Golly Gee Willikers, I even have pictures standing next to this guy.

JUST IN: Obama grants 330 commutations on last full day in office

President Obama on Thursday granted 330 commutations to federal prisoners, less than 24 hours before his predecessor takes the oath of office. All were serving drug sentences.

Obama has granted more commutations, 1,715, than any president in United States history. Thursday's batch of commutations is the most issued by any U.S. president in a single day.

Obama in 2014 announced his clemency initiative, which encouraged federal prisoners to petition the Justice Department to have their sentences commuted or reduced. The move was part of the president's larger push for criminal justice reform.

Ocean City Approves Inlet Parking Lot Changes To Address Congestion Issues; Free Roam Time Cut To 20 Minutes

OCEAN CITY — A clearly divided Mayor and Council this week approved reducing the grace period for free parking at the Inlet parking lot from the current 30 minutes to 20 minutes in the interest of reducing congestion times at the popular parking area.

During last week’s Transportation Committee meeting, officials voted to adjust the paid parking structure at the Inlet lot to 20-minute increments in an effort to reduce the need for coin change and keep the line of vehicles attempting to leave the lot at certain busy times. The intent is to adjust the fee schedule at the Inlet lot in order to make the increments come out rounded to the whole dollar, eliminating the need for coin change and thereby speeding up the transaction times.

Under the proposed adjustments, the first 20 minutes would be free, 21 minutes to 40 minutes would cost $1, 41 minutes to 60 minutes would cost $3 and each additional 20-minute period would cost another $1. The handicap fee schedule would be adjusted in kind with a 60-minute free grace period, with a $5 fee for 61 to 100 minutes and $6 for 101 to 120 minutes.

CNN: Assassinating Trump Could Keep Obama Administration in Power

As the nation prepares for the peaceful transfer of power on Inauguration Day, CNN is dreaming up scenarios whereby the Obama administration can keep power if President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence were blown up as they prepared to take to oath of office.

On the Wednesday, January 18 broadcast of CNN’s The Situation Room, host Wolf Blitzer aired a segment with a chyron featuring the headline “Developing Now.” During that “developing” segment, Blitzer and correspondent Brian Todd discussed what would happen if the unthinkable occurred on January 20.

Blitzer introduced the segment, saying, “What if an incoming president and his immediate successors were wiped out on day one?” and from there, CNN contributor Brian Todd took over to outline the line of succession if an attack blew up the inaugural dais, killing both Trump and Pence.

The upshot was that in the case of both heads of state being killed, the Secretary of State would take over. Currently that man is Secretary of State John Kerry, But in case some objected because his office would also end as of noon on Inauguration Day, then it would be the Speaker of the House — Republican Paul Ryan — or even Obama’s Under Secretary for Political Affairs Tom Shannon.

THE NERVE! Michelle Obama Responds To John Lewis SKIPPING Out On Inauguration

For those who are not familiar with who John Lewis is, here is a quick update. JOhn Lewis is a Georgia politician with a rich history in the civil rights movement. He was the youngest of the “Big Six” leaders of the movement. He helped organize the march on Washington. Personally marched and worked next to Martin Luther King Jr. and advocated the non-violent effort to end segregation and racism.

Like many Democratic leaders he is not thrilled with the upcoming inauguration of president-elect Donald Trump. He has recently been quite vocal about his unease with the upcoming presidency.

According to ABC News:

After a Friday interview in which Lewis said Trump was not the “legitimate” president because of alleged Russian interference in the election, Trump responded on Twitter Saturday, writing that Lewis “should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!”

Trump’s accusation that Rep. John Lewis is “All talk… (and) no action…” struck a chord with many. For a survivor of multiple jailings and beatings as a result of his voice in fighting for civil rights it had to be a troubling accusation.

But Michelle Obama has taken to twitter herself today and stepped into the debate.

Obama Commutes Bulk of Chelsea Manning’s Sentence

WASHINGTON — President Obama on Tuesday largely commuted the remaining prison sentence of Chelsea Manning, the army intelligence analyst convicted of an enormous 2010 leak that revealed American military and diplomatic activities across the world, disrupted the administration, and made WikiLeaks, the recipient of those disclosures, famous.

The decision by Mr. Obama rescued Ms. Manning, who twice tried to commit suicide last year, from an uncertain future as a transgender woman incarcerated at the male military prison at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. She has been jailed for nearly seven years, and her 35-year sentence was by far the longest punishment ever imposed in the United States for a leak conviction.

Now, under the terms of Mr. Obama’s commutation announced by the White House on Tuesday, Ms. Manning is set to be freed on May 17 of this year, rather than in 2045.

Lady Liberty is African-American in new commemorative coin

Lady Liberty appears "in a new light, as an African-American woman," in a $100 gold coin unveiled Thursday, officials at the U.S. Mint have announced.

The 2017 American Liberty 225th Anniversary Gold Coin shows a woman's head in profile with a crown of stars. It features the year of the Philadelphia mint's founding, 1792, as well as 2017. The reverse side of the coin depicts an eagle in flight.

The coin is the first in a series. Future 24-karat gold coins will show Liberty in designs representing Asian-Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans, according to the mint. From the late 18th through the early 20th century, most U.S. coins featured depictions of Liberty as a woman of Europen ancestry.

"The coin demonstrates our roots in the past through such traditional elements as the inscriptions 'United States of America,' 'Liberty,' 'E Pluribus Unum' and 'In God We Trust,'" Principal Deputy Director Rhett Jeppson said.

Progressives Prepping for Anti-Trump Woman's March by Making 'Pussyhats'

Progressive knitters and crocheters around the world are busy making “Pussyhats” to be worn by participants in the media-hyped Woman’s March to take place in Washington, D.C. as part of the organized left’s response to Donald Trump’s election.

“Pussyhats” are pink, knitted, cat-ear headgear, and their manufacture and distribution are being undertaken by the Pussyhat Project, one of the “partners” listed on the website of the Woman’s March scheduled for January 21, 2017.

As the Pussyhat Project’s flier helpfully points out:

We love the clever wordplay of “pussyhat” and “pussycat,” but yes, “pussy” is also a derogatory term for female genitalia. We choose this loaded word for our project because we want to reclaim the term as a means of empowerment.

The group goes on to point out their view that identifying people with female genitalia as females is considered a form of oppression, saying that “in this day and age, if we have pussies we are assigned the gender of ‘woman.’ Women, whether transgender or cisgender, are mistreated in society.”

Martin O'Malley Compares Trump To Hitler, KKK

Former Gov. Martin O’Malley asserted President-elect Donald Trump is an evil man on par with the Nazis and the KKK on Twitter Saturday night, and said he would “fight.”

“Now is not the time for reconciliation,” the failed Democratic presidential candidate tweeted. “Dietrich Bonhoeffer didn’t reconcile with the Nazis. MLK didn’t reconcile with the KKK. Now we fight”

O’Malley’s tweet is part of what appears to be a Democrat campaign to delegitimize Trump’s win, undermine his presidency and encourage anyone who will listen not to accept the results of the election. Democrat Rep. John Lewis said he does not see Trump as a “legitimate” president Friday, because the Russians rigged the election and rendered the result unfair and undemocratic. Others tried to invalidate the electoral college vote on the grounds of Russian interference and alleged voter fraud.

The initial reaction to O’Malley’s tweet wasn’t exactly positive.

Lewis: 'Almost impossible for me' to work with Trump

Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) said in an interview broadcast Sunday that it would be "almost impossible" for him to work with President-elect Donald Trump after he takes office.

"It's going to be very hard and very difficult. Almost impossible for me to work with him," Lewis, a prominent civil rights leader in the 1960s, said in an interview with NBC News's Chuck Todd.

Todd questioned Lewis about a scenario where Trump called him up and asked to consider working with him.

"I would say, 'Mr. President, Mr. Trump, it's going to be hard. It's going to be tough,'" Lewis responded.

His remarks in the pre-taped interview came before Trump tweeted Saturday evening and suggested the pair work together in focusing on the nation's inner cities.

Trump has courted prominent African-Americans such as entertainer Steve Harvey, who visited Trump Tower on Friday, to focus on the issue. Trump also tapped retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

“Congressman John Lewis should finally focus on the burning and crime infested inner-cities of the U.S. I can use all the help I can get!” Trump tweeted Saturday evening.

Ringling Bros. circus plans to shut down 'Greatest Show on Earth' after 146 years

ELLENTON, Fla. – After 146 years, the curtain is coming down on "The Greatest Show on Earth." The owner of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus told The Associated Press that the show will close forever in May.

The iconic American spectacle was felled by a variety of factors, company executives say. Declining attendance combined with high operating costs, along with changing public tastes and prolonged battles with animal rights groups all contributed to its demise.

"There isn't any one thing," said Kenneth Feld, chairman and CEO of Feld Entertainment. "This has been a very difficult decision for me and for the entire family."

The company broke the news to circus employees Saturday night after shows in Orlando and Miami.

Here They Come...

FBI & NYPD: Clinton Foundation Probed for Money Laundering, Financial Transactions with Islamic Terror Groups

Money launderers who bragged on a secret federal wire tap that they could employ Clinton Foundation connections to funnel and cleanse millions in illicit cash have sparked a newly-minted FBI investigation into the embattled charity run by Hillary Clinton and her family, federal law enforcement officials confirm.

The money laundering allegations being probed by the FBI have been buoyed by recent revelations and evidence discovered by the NYPD from a laptop confiscated from Anthony Weiner and Huma Abedin’s Manhattan residence. According to NYPD, several of the emails recovered on the hard drive disclosed sensitive financial details of the Clintons and their charity. That evidence is now in the hands of the FBI too, whose New York field office has opened a parallel Clinton Foundation investigation.

Federal law enforcement sources said the Los Angeles-based money launderers, who are part of a separate federal investigation, discussed previously using Clinton Foundation personnel to domesticate foreign funds that could not be legally brought into the United States through traditional bank wires and deposits.

NYPD sources said Weiner’s email treasure trove contained correspondences regarding a company linked to President Bill Clinton and at least one offshore company, a South American affiliate of the Clinton Foundation. The emails also contained offshore financial correspondences, the source said.

Federal agents said one U.S.-based company is owned by Bill Clinton and according to linked banking intelligence discovered in emails, that entity disbursed millions of dollars via wire transfers through global banks to additional accounts controlled by the Clinton family and its charity. NYPD intelligence sources versed in anti-money laundering, said the emails and other items obtained from Weiner’s laptop paint a portrait of a complex corporate umbrella strategically formulated to seemingly operate and avoid law-enforcement detection.

“There’s sophistication in how this works and distributes cash to other accounts,” a federal intelligence source said. “Do we think this involves gun-running or drug-dealing criminals? Not intentionally, but the infrastructure is set up almost identically. Proceeds and income are being hidden the same way.”

History!

Times Be A Changin'

By Thornton Crowe

What's with all the seemingly mass hysteria surrounding Donald Trump's inauguration? Trying to remember if there was ever such dissent and discourse in our history, the only other time that comes to mind is 1969. The country was already embroiled in vehement debate because, unlike today, we were in the first widely televised war. After the initial discount, it soon became obvious that in the 60s, liberals were protesting because they didn't want to go to war while now, they're protesting because they don't want to go to work!

Trump supporters voted for a complete change in DC and the way it does business. No longer are we willing to accept the skyrocketing spending sprees, forced Obamacare and governmental meddling into our every decision. Finally, we've awoken up from our Liberal/MSM hazes and said it's not a bad thing to be American again - unlike the last thirty years where we've been scolded and bullied into shame for having pride in America.

Let's face it, we've entered the age where tangible results are king! It's not enough to just talk about issues to placate voters every two years. Results!

Yes, this was a true change election and one that will produce results as Trump will govern like a CEO instead of a political ideological hack, lacking Common Sense. He is a doer, which means now, DC is running scared. He is actually doing what he said he was going to do -- put people back to work by bringing back (and retaining) jobs to America. Scary actions produce scary times and our youngsters are about to be weened off the government plantation and actually get a job! Hence, making Trump a more legitimate president than the last four, combined. Imagine that!

In addition to the patently false dossier created by the GOPe during the primary, last week's bigger upset was when the State Department became inflamed over a request from our President Elect. The Transition Team asked all its employees to to submit job descriptions and justify what they do on a daily basis. Furthermore, in these job explanations, they had to illustrate where they've actually achieved tangible results -- code meaning: how they've earned their salaries.

Heavens to Murgatroyd... You mean, like corporations do all the time to assess efficiency? How dare Trump have the audacity to expect government to be efficient? What's up there?

All these loony liberal tantrums are merely an organized effort to shanghai Americans into buying this mythical notion that an efficiently-run government is a bad one because the DC class has lived off the biggest welfare government subsidy of them all. We've allowed them, through our own apathy, to cash in at our expense for so long that now, when they have justify their existence, they're crying victimhood!

Political loafers like Paul Ryan, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell are now required to produce results because gone are the days of empty words and platitudes being blindly accepted. Yes, indeed we've rattled some mighty cages and now, we're having to tolerate infantile tantrums. It's become pointedly obvious, the only thing bipartisan among the DC Elites is a penchant for waste, fraud, kickbacks, abuse and sloth!

We're in for the yuge changes we've voted for... momentous ones that will actually wrangle our government into working efficiently and with Common Sense while being ever-thoughtful of budgetary restraint. Simply put, our government will begin to work for us; not the other way around! Isn't it about time?

Buy your favorite whiner an alarm clock... time to go back to work!

Trump was right about Mexican-Made GM Cars

Donald Trump doesn't like things made in Mexico.

On January 3, he slammed GM, one of America's big three automakers, for manufacturing cars in Mexico to sell across the border in the U.S. He focused his firepower on the Chevy Cruze, one of GM's signature small cars.

"General Motors is sending Mexican made model of Chevy Cruze to U.S. car dealers-tax free across border. Make in U.S.A. or pay big border tax!" Trump tweeted at the time.

A huge debate ensued: Did Trump have his facts right? GM (GM) was quick to say no. The company issued a statement claiming it makes all Cruze sedans sold in the U.S. at a big factory in Lordstown, Ohio. (Read the full statement at the end of this article).

But it turns out, what Trump tweeted was true.
