Scoping of Possible Regulations (Ideas Being Considered)
During the scoping process, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources gathers suggestions and ideas from stakeholders and others about how to solve a fishery problem or address a need. The goal of scoping is to identify issues, potential impacts, and reasonable alternatives so that management actions can be developed.
Please submit feedback by 11:59 p.m. on March 18, 2020 for the following scoping ideas:
  • Blue Crabs – Poplar Island Crab Pot Line
  • Striped Bass – Recreational Summer and Fall Fishery
Please visit our Changes to Fishing Regulations page for detailed information about what is being considered and options for submitting comments.

HEY DNR "PLEASE" do more nighttime surveillance on the wicomico and nanticoke rivers. At least once or twice a week last year I witnessed several groups of immigrants last year running nets out in the local waterways

Oh no, not the immigrants, go after the law abiding fisherman who pay taxes, licenses, get an FIP number for Md or Va, dock fees, and boat expenses, so a bunch of politically driven biologist can let us keep one rock that has to be a mile long. How dare you go after people who keep anything, and everything they catch. It's so much easier to cruise around on a nice day and go after Joe, Sam, and Millie trying to abide by the law, and worry the hell outta them.
