I'm a Republican and I'm baffled by this idea. What a huge over reaction. Romney has been a huge disappointment.
How is this equitable? Some of us will lose 10 times that while some will not stop working and lose nothing...
to increase spending? What are you going to spend it on with everything closed? You can dine in. All shut down. to pay some bills and rent yes. to help the economy? No, not with everything closed.

None of the money exists. He is talking about giving people something that does not exist in reality. So the only wY to do what he is suggesting is for the Fed to create the US Dollars from thin air. Then “loan them to the US Treasury” with interest (US Bonds). The Treasury could then “send $1,000 to Americans”.
Just make sure you understand what they are talking about.

It's just a redistribution of wealth. They have just as little right to tax you to give money to someone as they do to force that person into unemployment.
Like every program of its kind it will be rampant with fraud. Friends of politicians will get first in line. By the time some chump change gets thrown to those who would deserve it their business will long be closed and their former homes a distant memory.
