At the beginning of this legislative session, I told lawmakers that if they accomplished nothing else, they must pass our proposals to hold violent criminals more accountable and put an end to the bloodshed in the streets of Baltimore. This is Marylanders’ top priority.
This morning, members of the Maryland Senate came together in bipartisan fashion to approve a number of these proposals, including measures to increase penalties for offenders who repeatedly possess illegal firearms or knowingly transfer a gun to someone who plans to use it in a crime. I want to sincerely thank the Senate for taking action on this emergency legislation.
This fight isn't even close to over yet— these measures will now go to the House of Delegates. I urge Marylanders to continue contacting your representatives and let them know that time is running out: we need action on our crime legislation now.

Will never see it as an enforceable law. I will believe it when I see it. Hogan said no new taxes and is backing the Kirwan plan with millions of new taxes. Hogan is a liar and does things like this as a feel good act. Hogan will incarcerate all of Baltimore and the gangs / drug dealers. NEVER HAPPEN.

Get rid of Maryland Justice Reinvestment Act... that would help a great deal!!!
All sounds good but without a law saying it can't be plea bargained away it means nothing. Just look at how many times the gun charge is dropped in our courts.
Ruark drunk in possession of a firearm and driving is just one of them!
