'Out of our range': XFL dismisses Colin Kaepernick salary requirements as 'exorbitant'

Talks between former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the XFL broke down because Kaepernick's salary requirements exceeded what any of the eight teams in the league were willing to pay him.

"We have some pretty significant salary restrictions," XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck told NPR over the weekend. "We're a startup league, so we want to make sure that we can be fiscally responsible and fiscally prudent."

Launched this year, the XFL is a professional football league with eight teams in major media markets across the country. The league held its opening slate of games over two days last weekend.

Colin Kaepernick gets the "ex" from the XFL before he even starts. What's his backup life plan, I wonder.

Awesome, I hope he never ever gets paid again for playing football.

Back to mommy’s spare bedroom !

He is worth (negative) - million. He would have to work up to zero

The narrative - he just wanted to play football again- seems a bit off. Maybe - show me my paycheck is more to the truth. But someone will argue, make as much possible in his prime, okay stay at home and enjoy your nike income, in your prime.

You can hate on him all you want, but he has more money than all the people who post on here, combined. He is winning.

No need to let him ruin your game like he did the NFL!!! He’s done let Nike support him!!!!

358 thank you, beat me to it.

Salary requirements? Let's call them what they are, salary demands of enough money to pay his lawyers and agents.

That's funny right there! Kaeperdick is scrambling after his less than successful attempt at extorting money from the NFL. If he's SOOO damn well off and "winning" why is he so damn desperate to keep trying to play? He's trying to keep his name relevant to keep money flowing once he fades out completely the well will dry up

3:58 & 4:57 - Golly gee willikers I had no idea he is making that much. OK then- I love me some kaepernick now. Wish someone was smart enough to have told me sooner! You two are morons!!

Ya know, when we were kids and had a guy who wanted to play by using his rules, he usually wasn't chosen to play, Hmmm....

Agreed POS doesn't deserve a career in football or any other field.

Anonymous said...

Exactly!

XFL is would be smart not to touch him as the people he offended are likely to be their biggest audience.

I notice you guys tend not to have much to offer besides shallow insults and piss poor come backs when your statements are challenged by facts.

Capernick's net worth is around 20 million dollars, has a lucrative deal with Nike... who is very happy with him, their sales AND stock has risen with him at the helm...

Not thinking he is hurting for income.

@9:46 he's not hurting now but in the back of his mind his kneeling during the anthem is eating him alive now. He could be make what his bet worth is in a single season and all the NFL Nike garbage wasn't lucrative for him but very lucrative for the lawyers and agents I'm sure

The only way kaeperdick gets paid today is to keep getting rejected to play football and keep playing his victim mentality in the media so the little boys and girls run out and buy some Nike garbage
