If the federal government were to attempt an overtly unconstitutional gun control overreach, which side would the police take? We just got our answer loud and clear — and it's music to the ears of liberty-lovers across this country.
The police are an integral part of the communities they serve. They represent both the community and the government, a duality unknown in almost any other institution. Their role is simple: protect rights and keep the peace. This vital duty, one of the few true core functions of government, derives its effectiveness from the trust of the community, which sees police officers as their protectors. And that’s how it should be.
In a Tuesday morning appearance on Fox and Friends, the Fraternal Order of Police National Vice President Joe Gamaldi illustrated this in a stunning rebuke of Beto O’Rourke’s plan to use law enforcement to confiscate lawfully-purchased firearms. Gamaldi stated “At a time when everyone is asking us to bridge the gap with the community, his brilliant idea to connect with our citizens is to go door to door and seize their property? It’s completely ridiculous.”

I am a Maryland Eastern shoreman. And I am a proud charter member of The Oath Keepers. Law enforcement, firefighters and Military can join this organization.
Basically, The Oath Keepers will not enforce any law that violates the Constitution of the United States of America
Sorry to say, because many of my good friends are in law enforcement but they would follow orders from those who issue the paychecks.

Northwest Woodsman: sorry to say that after over twenty years of federal and local law enforcement experience I would not trust that police officers would not take part in repressive measures against law abiding citizens, particularly where guns are involved. As mentioned above, they are more likely to obey their superiors, many of whom are backstabbing political hacks that seek promotions and could care less about their fellow officers or tax paying citizens.

I would agree with the article, if you are referring to sheriffs. The worcester county sheriffs have helped me on a few occasions and have always been courteous, upstanding,honest and fair. I don't think however you would find the maryland state police or the local city police to take this view. They seem to only one their paychecks and if the crooked parliament said you can not chew gum and drive a car, these people would simply reply, it's the law mamm

They could rape your wife or kids and kill all of you before law enforcement could respond to your 911 call. As for me I can rely on myself to shoot them. And even if I don't kill them you better believe they will start running away from my house because of the gun shots.

9:47 5 hours after your reatives discover your body and the 911 call goes out, popo arrives and takes pictures of your dead body and close ups of the strangulation marks, dna samples of your underwear for evidence, then files a report. But that doesn't matter because the deadly rapist escaped with no bullet holes. He might get caught he might not, but you are not coming back to life. And you think no one should have a gun except police officers. How naive !!!
