Ohio homeowner shoots dead two 17-year-old boys who were 'trespassing' inside his garage at night

An Ohio homeowner has shot dead two teenage boys who he says were 'trespassing' on his property on Wednesday night.

The homeowner has not been named but is being questioned.

He told police that on Wednesday at 9.30pm, he shot the two boys in his 'garage'. He called 911 afterwards.

The boys have been identified as 17-year-olds Devon Henderson and Javier Harrison. It remains unclear if they were trying to break into the property, or what their motive for being there was.

They were in his house, PERIOD

doesnt matter they wont be breaking into any more houses or garages

Anonymous said...

We need more of this and then you will see the crime rate go down.

Hopefully the Muslim property owner will be protected by the Castle Doctrine.

Anonymous said...

I'm for the property owner. I would like to be on his jury.

Anonymous said...

Probably will get life.

Being a CCW if the owner can't prove he was in imminent danger he is going to jail. I don't really agree with it, but that is the law. You can't just shoot someone because they have invaded your house. You can stand your ground with your weapon drawn, but if they turn and run, let them go and call 911.

2 less Thugs.

So he sleeps in the garage?

Anonymous said...

Garbage in the garage , I think so .

Anonymous said...

They were black and he is white so the media and the liberals will crucify him!

I’m sure that the homeowner will be in trouble, but I probably would have shot them too!

TheRealRay said...

No he's not...

Anonymous said...

I agree!

Anonymous said...

@6:08 come on are you really that stupid? I tell you what come onto my property and into my garage and put your fate into whether the law thinks I sleep in my garage or another part of the house or if my garage is part of my house or you can come right on in!

Anonymous said...

Who cares if he sleeps in his garage, they were up to no good, 17 yrs old, knew better, they got what they deserved

Anonymous said...

Someone comes in my house, I don't know them, yes I'm in imminent danger, sorry but dead thugs don't talk, one story to till the popo

Anonymous said...

I would have fought them but I’m a lot harder then most.

Anonymous said...

851 I agree with you always better to go hands on rather then pistol or wet work as we called it in my old job. Great comment

Anonymous said...

What you all fail to realize is that most of all the little thug wanna he's don't go hands on and will shoot your ass first, especially when traveling with one of their homeboys

Anonymous said...

851 and 12:07, you are both idiots. What are you going to do when they shoot you in the chest?

Anonymous said...

I would have held them at gunpoint until they charged me or the police got there. If they ran they ran, no threat at that point. Don't do stupid stuff that changes your whole life.

Anonymous said...

All I can say is: "TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT: SURVIVORS WILL BE SHOT AGAIN!!" You choose whether I'm bluffing or not Devon & Javier

Anonymous said...

I'll shoot EVERY S.O.B I find in my garage that I don't know and quite possibly those that are uninvited, friend or for. If you think that's BS ask anyone that knows me

judged by 12 or carried by 6?

Sad situation all around. The homeowner should have the right to protect life and home. However, "imminent danger" is going to be hard to prove especially if those kids were unarmed. They were in the wrong, no doubt, trespassers at least. But they are dead and the Black community will not accept what happened no matter what and will cry with outrage that two of theirs were killed while just being kids.

Anonymous said...

@634 non issue in this situation considering the children were NOT ARMED.

Anonymous said...

That’s First Degree assault, reckless endangerment

Anonymous said...

The boys were in his garage/on his property...duh.

Anonymous said...

9:32 “The children” ? 🤔

Anonymous said...

Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson will whip up sympathy for these poor dead "Children" and the Media will use their 8th. grade school photo to show how innocent they were. The community blacks will get involved in "Alternative Shopping" and the Mayor will say to the police, "Give them room to Loot and Burn".
While two dozen black "kids" are shot and killed in Chicago by other blacks and no one says anything.

@8:40

Speaking as a LEO,you go ahead and take that stance. I guarantee YOU are the one also going to jail. as bad as you want to be tough and macho, you can say you were in imminent danger. If our forensic investigation does not agree with your story. Well, kiss your butt goodbye. Sorry, but the law is the law.

11:45 The laws protect the criminals. I won’t wait for you to get there. You won’t protect me so I’ll take matters into my own hands. And I’m not 8:40. Just a law abiding gun owner willing to do what it takes to protect my family 🤷‍♀️

Anonymous said...

How do you know they were not armed?

Anonymous said...

How can I ask, if I don't know who you are?

Anonymous said...

@12:11

I agree with you 100%. My point is as a law abiding gun owner you better know when it is ok to protect you and you're family. And when to let the perp turn and run. If not, by law, you are now the criminal. Let that sink in for a moment cowboy!

Anonymous said...

This will continue until those people start teaching their kids the difference between right and wrong. And start accepting their responsibilities. Plus ask the parents why their kids were not at home.

Anonymous said...

Oh, guilty till proven innocent says the leo. This is the exact reason people hate you cops

Anonymous said...

I'm not a cowboy, I'm a sheepdog, but you probably have know idea what that is

Wolf Dog said...

11:45 The leo motto is "To Protect and Serve" now just who are you paid to protect an serve, the home owner who worked an paid for what he has and wants to keep it, or punk ass thugs who don't know what a days work is and steal everything they have ? How good do you sleep 11:45 knowing you are enabling criminal behavior ?

Like one of the old marine corps sayings go "ki** them all let God sort them out". The idiots had bad intentions knowingly going up onto and into a stranger's property. I guess the few law enforcement commenting are suggesting deal with it accordingly just don't call us?

Anonymous said...

F*** 'em!! Take their asses out to the woods duct tape them to a tree and pour honey all over their bodies. I bet after a couple days of that they won't be going up on another stranger's property

I took the time to read the entire news release, which most commenters obviously did not. The garage wasn't even attached to the house (which is a boarded up property). The garage is detached, and in the back yard of the property, and accessible from a different street than the house is on. The garage was not the owner's "home," nor was it attached to the home. It was a storage building on the property. Most likely the owner killed two "thieves" on his property. Unless he was threatened by the thieves (and can prove it), he will be charged with murder and a jury will have to decide. His 911 call said they were in his garage and he shot them, that they were "robbing" the place, tehn he said he didn't know why they were there. Not that they were armed, or that they threatened him. He found them in his garage, and killed them. Being in someone's garage isn't a reason to kill them. Sorry all you folks that think you can just kill anyone you find on your property. The law doesn't work that way (thank God!).

They were in his house, PERIOD

September 2, 2019 at 4:16 PM:

Put your brain in gear before typing a comment. Nothing in the news release, or the blog, says he was in his house. It was a storage building, maybe a garage, that was detached from the house, was in the backyard, and was accessible from a different street that the house was on. They were NOT in his house, PERIOD! You would know that if you had any reading skills.

Anonymous said...

@9:41

You hate us but we are the first you call when you are in danger. And we come in spite of your hate.

@5:40

I am paid to enforce the law, whether I agree with it or not.

September 3, 2019 at 5:02 PM:

Somebody should have taught that property owner that you can't kill somebody for trespassing, not that they were. Was the property posted? Of course, we don't know that. The shooter admitted he didn't know why they were in his storage building, on a property the shooter didn't live in (boarded up). He didn't say they threatened him, of if they took anything. He just killed them for being there. YOU need to be taught the difference between right and wrong.

Anonymous said...

So it sounds like a bunch of liberal pus**ies on here defending two worthless POS obviously up to no good looking to see what they could steal. Why would you think it's okay to go up on a posted property snooping around? Like I said earlier just handle it and don't notify law enforcement because it sounds like their backing all the ethnic fleecing of America. Hell look at the garbage in new York allowing the same demographic to throw things on them and not respond. I'm like the other poster it's time a little more "sheepdog" stepped up to the plate

Anonymous said...

They were in his property whether it was his home or garage, attached or a separate building. F*** them and you for defending such behavior. I'll say it again if I catch you up on my property, PERIOD, give your soul to God because your ass is mine.

Anonymous said...

Yes 11:52, you will arrive at the scene just in time to write a report. Robbery, burglary, homicide, etc already finished

Anonymous said...

4:03 Unlike you I will do what I have to do to protect my family🤷‍♀️ I’m a pretty good shot too!😉 You do what you need to do. Hope you sleep well at night🙄

11:53 No one hates you. We hate your arrogance. We hate your power trips. We hate when your own your way to work in Easton and you ride the asses of every car in front of you because YOU have to get to work. We hate that you ride around talking on your cell phones when it’s against the law. We hate you speeding around town when your not on an emergency call. We hate that you choose to set up radar while a block away there’s a drug deal going on. Get the picture?

Anonymous said...

4:03 says "you better know when it's ok to protect your family"
I do know when to protect my family, it's "all the time". I won't be asking permission from anyone, I'll just do it like any real man would.

Good thing you are anonymous, or they'd be coming to take your guns away. You can't kill people for stealing, and in this case, the property owner said he didn't ever know why they were there (he didn't witness anything missing and they weren't armed). He KILLED two trespassers on unoccupied property. He will go to jail, and you will too, despite all your bluster. All your false bravado is just that. That keyboard doesn't give you any special rights to kill people, just for trespassing. Somehow, I think you know that, or if not, you're just ignorant. And if you F*** me, you'll never go back to cats and dogs. Just saying...

You couldn't be more stupid! And you definitely are not a responsible gun owner, and should be banned from having one. A gun in the hands of a moron that is ignorant of the law is a dangerous neighbor and citizen (like the one the post is about). There is a difference in defending your life, and defending your property. It is covered in all 100 level college law courses. Yes, I have taken multiple law courses as a major part of my degree. You should try to get educated in basic law before you brag about how you will kill somebody for no more than trespassing on your property. Amazing how many people are ignorant of the law.

Northwest Woodsman: Regardless of the configuration, Most garages have tools in them that could conceivably be used as deadly weapons. It would not be too difficult to come up with a feasible defense that you were in fear for your life.

Hey Mr. Know-it-all,

Most have tools that could conceivably" be used as deadly weapons. Hah, good that you are not a lawyer. You wouldn't be able to keep a job. That tool would have to be in their hands, and they would have to threaten someone with it. Just being in the garage with a tool that they don't have on them, and "conceivably" don't even know of its location in the garage doesn't give anyone the "right" to kill unarmed people on their property. Stay out there in the northwest, and sleep with Big Foot. He's as real as your law degree. You can't "pretend" to be smart. Your are, or you aren't. And your comment indicates you are not so smart.

How do you know they were not armed?

September 3, 2019 at 12:52 PM:

Duh, I can read. Read the article, not the post. The property owner never claimed they were armed, or that they took anything. All he knew before he shot and killed those two teenagers is that they were on/in his property, and that they were trespassing. Not a legal reason to kill anybody. He shot them without knowing who they were, or if they took anything, or whether they were armed or not. He didn't claim that they threatened him. He killed them for being there. Guess what? That's way against the law. Read the article. Inform yourself. Don't make someone explain it to you.

Anonymous said...

September 4, 2019 at 4:21 PM;

I haven't seen any comments saying the two teens had a right to be on that property. Never-the-less, you can't just kill two teenagers for being there. It's wrong, it's illegal, and no people deserve to die for trespassing. Its why we have laws. And the laws keep most people from doing stupid s**t that will put them in jail for the rest of their lives. But then again, there's people like you......

Your hate of police is obvious. It appears to affect your happiness (why?). You need a good psychologist to help you release all those angry thoughts occupying your head. Law enforcement personnel shouldn't bother you that much, unless you have other mental issues (or unless you are a frequent customer of law enforcement).

Wow, some eastern shore rednecks are both trigger happy and woefully unaware of the law. Dangerous combination.
