Dear Friends and Supporters,

It truly has been a whirlwind since last year’s Fundraiser anticipating the 2018 Election, and the dramatic changes that occurred in the Maryland General Assembly. We certainly have had significant change, more than expected. The Governor won a second term in a big way, the House Republicans lost members and the Senate had a net gain of new Republican Senators who are strong leaders. The Senate leadership changed as three Committee Chairmen did not return. The first year of the new term was opened with President Miller announcing his Cancer Diagnosis and then closed following the unexpected death of Speaker Busch who is now followed by Speaker Adrienne Jones. Despite the changes, our team continued to fight for less taxes, decreased regulation, continued government efficiency, and building a strong rural economy. I continued my focus on infrastructure for our small communities; affordable accessible health care, tools for communities to increase affordable workforce housing, and access to internet in our rural areas. I was successful with many legislative initiatives to address these issues without adding cost to the budget, and combined with the Governors priorities, much was accomplished in spite of the distress around us. We will still face significant challenges as the costs still outweigh the revenues.

Thank you so much for your support. The annual Crab Feast and Sausages event is scheduled for September 8th and is an opportunity both to celebrate our accomplishments and plan for the 2020 Session. I look forward to seeing you on the September 8th at Claytons.
