She's a ceremonial head of monarchy. Big bucks wasted but the Brits love their traditions.

I love it the Queen recognizes Trump is real you can tell by the picture it is genuine. A real shame the Democrats can't see him for the man he is not just got to win the next election at all costs, they have been 100% on his heels since 2016 and taken aims at his youngest son, and intelligent classy daughter. The Clintons daughter Chelsea not so much too much like her Mom Hillary out to lunch with Captain Crunch.

Ever wonder what the Queen Mum carries in her purse? Pepper spray? Breath mints? Products from Planned Parenthood? Keys to Buckingham? Philip's prescription of Groacet?

4:57-But what did she do when she was a lot younger, and what function does the Royal Family have in the British government?

She did the same things she does now. They are called Royal Duties. All the Royals have duties assigned to them. Even the Queen. The Queen is the ceremonial head of British Government. The key word is "ceremonial." Greeting and welcoming foreign dignitaries on State visits is one of her functions and duties as Queen. You just witnessed what she does when she hosted the President of the United States, and his family. Before she was a Queen, she was a Princess, a descendant of the Royal family. Royalty inherits the throne, based on the family line of succession. Her lineage goes back hundreds of years.
