The Media Won’t Say It, but Christians Are the No. 1 Persecuted Group Worldwide

Sri Lanka. April 21. Five hundred wounded, over 300 dead in terrorist attacks.

According to mainstream media and many in the international community, these attacks were another senseless assault on “humanity.” But the destruction of Christian churches on Easter morning was not motivated by generic hatred. We know exactly why these men, women, and children died.

They died for their Christian faith.

On the holiest day in the Christian calendar, three bombs ripped through Christian churches, killing hundreds who had gathered peacefully to celebrate Christ’s resurrection from the dead.

Unfortunately, this article is spot on. While there are many persecuted groups in the world, it seems to me that presently, Christians are the 'new' endangered religion in our all so PC culture - in a phrase, "winter is coming"

One groups freedom fighter is another groups terrorist. Did anyone for one second ask why this is happening?

I'm not discounting these tragedies... I am calling into question what is being made to be the motivation of the attackers, and what is not reported is the WHY from these attackers. I don't think it would simply be "they aren't the right religion"... I am sure it is much more than that.

Also, anywhere in the world that you can be killed for being Christian, the same applies to atheists. There ARE areas where being the wrong religion will get you killed, but where these attacks happened this is not the case. These attacks were not motivated solely based on religiosity. The picture is larger than that.

Like it or not, the premise here is wrong, so are the conclusions. While much of Europe is becoming increasingly secular and non religious, ironically, secular countries are the most tolerant of differing religions. However, most of the world is still very religious, and I would argue, that atheists probably should be the group that would be labeled most persecuted.
