Call for Charter Review

The Wicomico County Charter states "The County Council shall, at least once every ten (10) years appoint a Charter Review Committee for the purpose of reviewing the Charter in full and submitting recommendations to the County Council".

Considering all the amendments that the County Council has put forward the last two elections, we believe it is now time to review the Charter as a whole.

We have sent a request to the County Council for them to appoint a Charter Review Committee at this time.

Be careful what you wish for. Consider who will be doing the charter review.

People should have to apply for the job and an interview process take place by a bipartisan panel (non-partisan would be nice, but it is a pipe dream). Need some new blood involved with these kinds of things.

I was just wondering who "we" was?

It's time to go back to a council/manager form of government.
