But now, after the disputed election of Donald Trump many leftists throughout the country are turning to Maryland to lead the charge against the Electoral College.
Measures to sidestep the Electoral College are being considered throughout the country, and many believe Maryland is just the beginning of a nationwide movement to uproot and forever change the U.S. election process.
Gov. Martin O’Malley, a Democrat, signed the measure into law, one day after the state’s General Assembly adjourned.
The measure would award Maryland’s 10 electoral votes to the
national popular vote winner. The plan would only take effect if states representing a majority of the nation’s 538 electoral votes decided to make the same change."

Award the electoral votes to the NATIONAL popular vote winner or the popular vote winner in MARYLAND?
Sounds like something screwed up that O'malley would do!
The Electoral College was created to allow all states to have a say as to who is elected president and vice-president not just those states that have the greatest population (New York, California, etc., mainly on the east and west coasts. This is in direct contradiction to how this country was created, as a republic where everyone has a say, and not a democracy where there is mob rule.
If they want to try to do away with the present system the first thing that needs to happen is to purge all state and county election rolls and start over without the dead people, the people who have moved, and the non-citizens who are not allowed by constitution to vote.
Dems are afraid of becoming non-existent. Problem with that is THEY are the very ones of their own undoing. CONgress do something for our COUNTRY, not your own agendaS. MD state legislature DO SOMETHING for our state rather than passing laws for banning styrofoam or when school should or shouldn't start!
C'mon man!
No, no, no, no, no!!
Here's an idea. Since "all politics is(supposedly)local", how about awarding one(1) point to each county according to popular vote? Delaware is an easy example. Since Clinton won New Castle, she would be awarded 1 point. Trump would get 2 points for Kent and Sussex. In Maryland, the tally would be 17 points for Trump and 7(add Baltimore City) for Clinton. Makes more sense to me, if you want to revamp the way we elect a President, than the current nonsense being discussed.
So there is no point in me even showing up since Baltimore will be selecting the president.
Omalleys plan all along and then he ran and lost.
Sue him for meddling in elections and fraud?
With crap like that he should never have been allowed to run
Now that we know. What our we going to do?! They overstepped their authority
The only thing that matters is who the people chose. We go to the polls, put a mark in the box next to the person who WE want to be President and that's it. If someone is claimed to have been more popular than the one who won, then doesn't it make sense that they would have been the one the people would have chosen. There should be one vote and that's it. Who cares who they think was the most popular. If you had been that popular, then why did you lose?????? Pure ignorance.
