EXECUTIVE BOB CULVER ANNOUNCES THE SUCCESS OF WARMING UP WICOMICO

I am pleased to announce the success of a new program Warming up Wicomico. During the months of January and February, drop boxes were made available to have outerwear, socks, blankets and other warming items dropped off.

There were over 1,323 items donated and because of the generosity of so many citizens; several shelters, homeless camps and other citizens in need benefited.

I would like to thank Johnson Seed and Feed for their support by setting up a collection area. Their customers were extremely generous as were they, even providing dog food. Also a big thanks to The Insurance Market who delivered many items from their employees within the last couple days.

This was a huge responsibility accepted by our Wicomico Partnership for Families and Children. This initiative was the idea of Director Michelle Bradley and she and her staff sorted and distributed all 1,323 pieces. My sincere thanks to Michelle and her staff for a job well done.

Thank you to all who donated and helped to make this project so successful. Because of you many people were warmed by your kindness.

I'll bet when Jesus Christ fed the multitudes, you were there telling him not to give out the fish and bread for free.
