Wow! Those losers at the Salisbury Fire Department weren't able to save anyone. So much for them calling themselves "Heroes." "Salisburysbravest."

So the Federal Government and our taxes gave the City of Salisbury and the Salisbury Fire Department 24 additional paid firemen and they couldn't save this man and almost lost two of his family members! Two of the fire departments are very close to this house? Fire Chief John Tull lives just a few blocks away? I bet he didn't even get out of bed in an attempt to rescue these people and save their lives? I wonder if he eventually got out of bed and responded to the scene? Did Jake Day respond to the scene? Jake Day made a mistake appointing John Tull as the fire chief! What a dumb mistake you idiot!

I bet Jake Day wishes he didn't run off those volunteers now. I take that back, he could care less.

Jake Day needs to resign immediately!

John Tull needs to resign immediately!

The Salisbury Fire Department has nearly a hundred paid firemen now and they couldn't get there quick enough to save this person? Rest in Peace.

Wait, the Office of the State Fire Marshal?

What the Hell does the Salisbury Fire Department call their guy? Isn't he a "Fire Marshal?" If the State Fire Marshal is doing all the work then why the Hell are we paying Eric Cramer nearly $80,000 per year for? He gets Assistant Chief pay to imitate a real Fire Marshal. Who approved that position? Smart move Jake Day and you just filed to run for re-election for Mare of Salisbury. We are going to put every dollar and every effort we can into getting you out of Office. You are toast, little man!

SALISBURY, Md.- Authorities are searching for the cause of an early Friday morning house fire in Salisbury that left one person dead and two others injured.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the fire occurred at a two-story home located at 201 Louise Ave.

The 911 call was received shortly before 4:30 a.m. from a neighbor who was alerted about the fire by one of the occupants inside the burning home.

More than 25 fire personnel from the Salisbury Fire Department and mutual aid companies responded to the one-alarm fire, which took approximately 45 minutes to control.

Firefighters located a deceased adult male victim inside the structure. A male and female occupant, who were able to escape the home, were transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where they are being treated for smoke inhalation.

Authorities said smoke alarms were present, but is unknown at this time if they activated. Deputy State Fire Marshals have determined the fire originated in the first floor bedroom and the cause is currently under investigation. Total damages are estimated at approximately $65,000.

The deceased was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine the identity and the cause of death.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is being assisted by Maryland State Police.

You're kidding me right? Fire can go through a house in a matter of minutes! I don't know the circumstances but it SAYS the fire originated in the bedroom and if the people happened to BE in the bedroom, there was no hope from the beginning! Who knows how long the fire had been burning before the neighbor noticed and called 911! You people are a joke.

Looks like those loser paid Farmin in da Ghetto 'Bury lost another one.

This was in the County, so much for Bob's Fire Service Agreement. Bob should have started a county fire department with more volunteers to cover calls in the County.

I too want to know if John Tull got out of bed and attempt a rescue since he lives close and drives and City Ford Explorer emergency vehicle with lights and siren. He also carries his gear in that SUV so he could have gotten there in time to execute a rescue. Shame on him.

John Tull is Jake Day's appointed fire chief confirmed by Jack Heath, Muir Boda and Jim Ireton. Now think about that! John Tull was the closest emergency firefighter that lives close to this poor man.

If Fake day didn't close volunteers out someone may be alive.

Here's an idea since you think you can do a better job, go down to one of the stations, fill out an application, get the training and YOU do the job.

To the many misinformed individuals commenting about how the Salisbury Fire Department "didn't save the occupant"

Has anyone actually seen the run log from wicomico central? Do you know just how quickly the first unit was on scene?

Do you know anything about fire flow in modern Construction? Do you know the length of time the fire was burning before it was discovered?

Everyone that's commenting negatively is using an extremely sad and unfortunate event to feebly attempt to discredit an organization and its employees, who made every attempt possible to change the outcome of the fire for the better.

What pissed me off was WBOC had a reporter standing in front of the house and the camera man trying to get a close up shot inside the house thru a window. WTH is wrong with you people. What did you expect to see? If that was my house and they did that there would have be a profanity laced rant that would have made the broadcast unusable.

Freaking ambulance chasers.

Such a low class community
Some one died.
How about you show them some respect and leave them alone.

How would that be when you losers would have added four more minutes to the response considering you wanna be’s couldn't get out before realert? Where were you clowns when that little girl burned up in prince st? Oh that’s right you were playing grab a** at some four wheeler redneck orgy. You f**king clowns need a life. Bet you f**gots wouldn’t say it in person, because I would personally punch you square in the mouth.

A family just lost a loved one, and you clowns know that you can’t save everyone. It all depends on when and where the fire breaks out and how long before it’s discovered. Just when I thought your lowest low was sleeping with each other’s wives, you come with this nonsense. Response times are at an all time low losers, you weren’t needed and you still aren’t needed. Now go stamp some bingo cards and warm up the grill you over glorified auxiliary.

Why is Jake going to go? It was COUNTY property. You idiots didn’t know your roll when you were here and still prove your worth with stupid comments like these. Real classy you Station 13 rejects.

That way the rest of us can listen to realert after realert and know EXACTLY who to blame. SMDH

1-The SFD units were on scene rapidly and performed aggressively (something you 13 clowns could never, ever do) so those occupants got the best chance they possibly could have had. Unfortunately, with the occupants being right in the room where the fire started,, there may not have been much of a chance to begin with.
2- The 12 (not 24) new people picked up in the SAFER grant haven’t started yet. Unlike the plethora of former SFD volunteers that never really started...
3-Why would the Mayor and Chief be expected to be on scene? I’m positive they were notified, but there was no reason for them to have been there. Not to mention, it was county territory (you know, that territory you Station 13 people were so positive you could take over)
4-And fires like that don’t need T Shirt wearers who stand outside afraid to go in, it needed the firemen that were there.

This is the same response you see the paid fire turds in da 'Bury post everytime they can't take the criticism.

I have a better idea for you! If you can't stand the heat, then get the Hell out of the fire service.

Why is Jake Day going to go? Because it's the SALSBURY FIRE DISTRICT!!! NOT County Fire District. The Salisbury Fire Department and the Salisbury Fire Department fall under the authority of the Mayor of the City of Salisbury and that Mayor just happens to be....wait for it..... JAKE DAY!!

We are not talking about a fire on Prince Street, we are talking about the fire on Louise Avenue and you paid morons are responsible for that fatality and the 2 injuries resulting from that fire.

Quit trying to divert your negligence and own up to your responsibilities.

You paid fire morons are the ones that didn't want to give up the fire district in the county. You paid fire morons are the ones that went knocking on doors asking people to chose the paid firemen over the volunteers. Isn't that right Brian Records and Eric Johnson.

"Do you know anything about fire flow in modern Construction?"

Um... that house was built in 1950. That is almost 70 years old so I would be so quick to say it is "modern construction." Good try you paid dumb a$$, you own this fatality.

"Everyone that's commenting negatively is using an extremely sad and unfortunate event to feebly attempt to discredit an organization and its employees"

Um... NO! You get all the discredit on your own.

Amen to that! I will take a Powellville Station 11 volunteer for my emergency any day. Screw those paid ticks at the Salisbury Fire Department who hate volunteers. The same Salisbury paid ticks who forgot they got their start as a volunteer. The same Salisbury paid ticks who now hate volunteers. The same Salisbury paid ticks who are calling the volunteers losers. The same Salisbury paid ticks who are calling the volunteers clowns. The same Salisbury paid ticks calling volunteers rednecks. The same bigoted Salisbury paid ticks calling the volunteers "Faggots." The same Salisbury paid ticks threatening to punch a volunteer "square in the mouth." The same Salisbury paid ticks calling volunteers low lifes sleeping with each other's wives. The same Salisbury paid ticks calling the volunteers "ticks." Yes you paid Salisbury paid firemen are the only ticks now get over yourselves.

Yes those comments came from a paid fireman who wrote Anonymous February 1, 2019 at 9:31 PM. You are disgusting!

Who was on duty Bryan Records? Many of these hateful comments against the volunteers sound just like the comments he kept posting about them on Facebook.

Good try, they’re the only ones who feel creative in calling him “Fake Day”.

My name is spelled Bryan, and that other guys name is Erik, not Eric. You dummies couldn’t fight fire and you can’t spell either.

Let’s put this incident in 11’s first due. What would the outcome be then? Take a good long look at yourself, your department and the response you can bring to an incident like that.

Anonymous said...

We didn’t give away our territory to a bunch of cry babies that couldn’t get their way. Yep.
We didn’t give away our territory to a bunch of renegades that never could meet the standard, do the job or serve the needs of the citizens. Yep again.

Know the people who live there. Someone lost a close relative in that fire. Why don’t you mooks show a little respect for the family and stop your bitching. If you want to whine about the fire department, get Joe to post a bitchfest for you to vent your upset.

You people are like frigging vultures ready to pounce on any situation and turn it to some political statement to meet your rhetoric. Not everything is political. Death happpens all the time and you wouldn’t want someone capitalizing on a death of your close relative so why don’t you just stand down and pray for the people directly effected by this tragedy.

Anonymous said...

I’m
No fan of the Salisbury fire department, I think that they should be replaced with all volunteer but to blame them for this death is just asinine and childish.

Anonymous said...

9:31pm come on over so it can happen or better yet post your name since you have all that mouth. Maybe you should ask some assistant chiefs what the real reason for that death was. Plus, it was ok for the paid staff to take vacation days that day and the consistent overtime to staff station two, who still can’t get out, made it so that when the staffing crew was requested in writing (due to friends taking a vacation out of town) it was denied by the chief because there was no funds left in the overtime budget. But, there was some for that night and all day Sunday after the incident. The ex chief has that blood on his hands!

Anonymous said...

9:31 you stated that volunteer “response times are at a all time low” because that’s what they were volunteer response times. Sta 16 was never in the response times because they never got out. Sta 2 response times went up because they put a duty crew there. And the last standing still had better volunteer response times than the whole county facts, not a slam! The chief could never come up with the formula used and stated he didn’t have it but, the numbers are true! Even got into an argument with a volunteer about this when asked about how he got the numbers and threw him out after he belittled the volunteer first! Fact! Three recruits that lived in the station 1 response territory were sent to other stations by the downtown admin one lived less than a half mile away from Sta 1, this shows they were deliberately lowering volunteer numbers to keep the downward trend.

If there was a screw up, you can bet that Jimmie Gladwell was somehow involved.
